Quentin Deronzier directs an extraordinary promo for The Weeknd, to tie-in with his official track for Avatar: The Way of Water.&nbsp;The cinematic visual was completely shot and post-produced between Thailand and LA, using no footage at all from the James Cameron's record-breaking movie&nbsp;- which makes this even more of an impressive feat.&nbsp;The world of Avatar is brought to life through fascinating&nbsp;cinematography, action-packed vignettes and stunning, effervescent lighting, resulting in&nbsp;environments as otherworldly as those in the film.&nbsp;Completely breathtaking and trippy throughout, it's a beautiful complement to the music.&nbsp;

Director trio Bleu Desert create an unsettling and controversial promo for French rap group&nbsp;S-Crew.&nbsp;The immersive concept follows a police car during a night-time patrol in Paris, cleverly shot&nbsp;using only interior and exterior car mounts, depicts the BAC (Anti-Criminality Brigade of the National Police) antagonising and abusing various people on the street - and planting evidence on their targets.[imgtoken data:1]The latter part of the clip sees the payback - the vehicle is&nbsp;vehicle commandeered by the S-Crew themselves, who take it on their own tour of the neighbourhood&nbsp;- and building to a fiery climax.&nbsp;Shot on 35mm to give the video a raw, cinematic aesthetic, this stirring and thought-provoking video is a must-watch introduction to an exciting new directing collective.&nbsp;

Henry Scholfield reunites with&nbsp;Belgian superstar Stromae for the video for Fils De Joie - the first since a series of great collaborations&nbsp;a few years ago -&nbsp;and it's a jawdropping experience.&nbsp;&nbsp; The concept takes place in an imaginary country, and showcases the state funeral of a national hero - a courtesan - with Stromae saluting the regiments and leading the ceremony.[imgtoken data:1]'Fils de Joie'&nbsp;(which translates as 'Sons of Joy') is&nbsp;the fourth track on Stromae's new album Multitude, and deals with the subject of prostitution through the prism of various characters. For its three verses, Stromae first takes the point of view of a client, then that of a manager of prostitution networks and finally that of a policeman, rather saddened by the situation. In the chorus, the Belgian puts himself in the shoes of a child of a prostitute supporting his mother and pleading for greater recognition and visibility.Scholfield gives this a remarkable interpretation with a grand spectacle, through a huge cast of dancers, choreographed displays of miliartry precision, captured in a variety of ways including&nbsp;aerial shots. It's&nbsp;seamlessly realised with polished visual effects, whilst the unique styling feels inspired and original - after all, creating uniforms for several distinct,&nbsp;imaginary groups is no mean feat.[imgtoken data:2]In fact, the grand scale of the project&nbsp;is almost overwhelming - and also poignant, as this video also skewers the martial and monumental nature of Soviet or North Korean-style ceremonials.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Using the themes of the track as a launchpad for something more unexpected, Scholfield infuses the project with his trademark high-concept sensibilities, and Stromae brings his A-game in the dramatic performance sections. Sasha Barbin and Ryan Doubiago's new video for M83 is a spectacular sequel to the acclaimed videos that the French producer released a decade ago.&nbsp;In 2011, M83 released a trilogy of videos for the album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming&nbsp;- directed by Fleur&amp;Manu. These films, produced by Division, told the story of a community of children gifted with supernatural powers who escaped from a school where a covert government force kept them locked up."To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the album, M83 wanted to illustrate a fourth piece, a fourth chapter that would take place in the same universe. But rather than setting it ten&nbsp;years later, we wanted to go back to the origins," explain the directors, Barbin and Doubiago.&nbsp;"That's why this story acts as a prequel to the trilogy - taking place ten years earlier in order to highlight the first moment one of these children uses their supernatural gifts."On the way to the hospital and moments before his birth, the child’s parents are victims of a horrible car accident. The unborn child is forced to use his powers to save them from within the womb. The idea was to show the literal birth of a superhero."The cinematic, stylised aesthetic encapsulates an emotional narrative and high-stakes drama scenes, whilst the use of slow-motion&nbsp;helps elevate the emotional pull of the concept. The visual effects also play a key role in both the narrative and the overall concept, and&nbsp;Mathieu Jussreandot does a brilliant job in this role.&nbsp;

Jara Moravec has directed a wonderfully heartfelt and uplifting video for the long-awaited return of Belgian-born singer-songwriter&nbsp;Stromae.Co-directed by&nbsp;Stromae’s creative director Luc Van Haver - the brother of the artist, aka Paul Van Haver - the visual reflects the sentiment behind the song Santé, which is an ode to the people who seem invisible but yet are vital to our communities, often immigrants from other cultures into those communities. It's a call for respect to the ones who keep everything going, without ever receiving recognition.So Moravec&nbsp;and Van Haver introduce us to this world of forgotten workers -&nbsp;the fishermen, cleaners, bakers, cooks and office workers - who during the course of the video are all drawn into a basic, part animated dance tutorial that appears on their TVs, which is presented by Stromae.It's shot in a humane documentary-style, and the authenticity of these unsung heroes is unquestionable - but as the dance tutorial starts to make its influence felt upon these initially tentative participants, a sense of euphoria grows.With this wonderful song - influenced, as is so much of Stromae's music by his Congolese roots - the effect is transcendent.[imgtoken data:1]
