Andrew Donoho brilliantly blends CG and live action in his promo&nbsp;for George Ezra's Anyone For You, using Extended Reality (or XR)&nbsp;technology to drive the concept, and frame another winning Ezra performance."To parallel the idea of George being 'anyone for you', I captured him in five natural environments with a distinct atmosphere to match his ever-changing appearance," explains Donoho, who also acted as VFX artist for the video.&nbsp;"We filmed the video in an XR stage [in Los Angeles] using entirely CG backgrounds, rendered live on a 80 foot screen, to playfully give his backgrounds their own digital identity crisis.[imgtoken data:1]"As his artificial worlds break down like a person changing themselves for love, we introduce one of my favourite techniques of all time: a live, digital feedback loop of George projected behind George ad infinitum over the walls and floor."Ezra brings his customary playful energy to the project, and is mesmerising to watch throughout - especially when that feedback loop of his performance takes over the screen, perpetually repeating over and over like an infinity mirror.&nbsp;The combination of artificial and real elements feels fresh and seamless, and Ezra's bubbly presence heightens the carefree mood.&nbsp;

Andrew Donoho dives head-first into hyperreality, and emerges triumphant in the video&nbsp;for&nbsp;Paul McCartney and Beck's reworking of Macca's Find My Way - by bringing Beatle-era Paul to the modern world, and beyond.&nbsp;&nbsp;The retro-tinged video for Find My Way features mesmerising set pieces, flamboyant choreography and, most crucially,&nbsp;one of the most high-profile and surely most effective and enjoyable employments of Deepfake technology (courtesy of VFX outfit Hyperreal) so far witnessed.[imgtoken data:1]Hallucinatory visions merge into abstract silhouettes and endless computer generated environments, amalgamating in a strangely sensual piece of cinema. The 'realness' of the youthful McCartney as he walks and dances through these environments is utterly convincing, but Donoho's approach is to promote and heighten the sense of wonder rather than add a surrounding reality to overly fool or confuse the viewer.And it's a joy, down to the reveal of Beck as the imposter Paul at the end - in fact, 'Young Paul' is played by Jordan Johnston. Joji negotiates a surreal&nbsp;fantasy of escape in his&nbsp;remarkable video for Gimme Love - the third single from forthcoming&nbsp;album&nbsp;Nectar&nbsp;- that's comprised of two distinct parts: the first directed by George Miller (that's Joji himself); the second part by&nbsp;Andrew Donoho.&nbsp;Part one immediately sets a frenetic&nbsp;pace with a rapid-fire montage of a homemade-style video, creating the semblance of a VHS tape recording. It tells the story of a scientist - played by Joji - working his way up the ranks. The location and set design instil an immediate realism, almost producing a mockumentary voyeurism that offers a glimpse into the career progression of this man.&nbsp;And as he climbs the ladder, his character changes. Brief moments of bonding with co-workers are overshadowed by the anxieties and frustrations that weigh him down. As he receives greater recognition for his professional accomplishments, he becomes unhappier.&nbsp;By the time he&nbsp;reaches the high point of his career, promoted to government-level, he is ordering others around and flying into fits of rage - of while also having suffered numerous tragedies and setbacks.This breathless montage of fast-paced cuts is counterpointed by the upbeat pop production of the track, Gimme Love. As the beat transitions into an emotive ballad, an ethereal melody initiates the cut into Part Two&nbsp;- and the immediate change in production values as Donoho's direction takes over.[imgtoken data:1]At this point,&nbsp;Joji’s character hijacks a rocket, and is preparing to project himself into space, while the astronauts are locked outside and the control room panics. Chaos is still unfolding, but the roles have shifted, with&nbsp;anger and confusion transferred to others,&nbsp;as Joji's persona now exhibits a disturbing calm.&nbsp;With Joji’s decision to produce a song that shifts in tone through the mid-way, the music video manages to naturally replicate the sudden deviation, and&nbsp;Andrew Donoho’s stylised approach in the second segment is the perfect complement to the rawness of the first.The themes of this video mirror Sanctuary, the first previous single&nbsp;from&nbsp;Nectar,&nbsp;establishing a clear narrative progression through the new album, and presenting a dramatic end to what seems to be the beginning of a 'Joji-verse'.&nbsp;

Sub Urban watches the world burn in the video for Cradles, directed by&nbsp;Andrew Donoho.&nbsp;Burning rooms, creepy mannequins and faceless toddlers with finger-guns start the proceedings, as we take a huge leap away from the mainstream and crash-land into the world of Sub Urban - as interpreted by Donoho.The inspired mix of live action and haunting scribble animations creates a juxtaposition of innocent youth against a dangerous and violent adult world, and Sub Urban is in the middle of it all. And in this age where Billie Eilish and Joker&nbsp;resonate so strongly, it's lack of innocence&nbsp;and graphic violence feels very on-trend.The visual takes cues from the childlike instruments and samples in the track, including a music box and bubblegum popping, and transforms these into something haunting. Sub Urban is terrific as an angsty and rather unhinged character, taking the absurdity in his stride and accepting his dark fate as the video progresses. And the vignette of faceless mannequin ballet dancers is a stroke of brilliance.With creative direction from Sub Urban himself, and the hauntingly beautiful style that Donoho impresses on every project, this is a match made in heaven... or hell.&nbsp;

This concept repeats across three separate locations, including the rooftop of the house, where a series of explosions forces them back inside,&nbsp;and the destruction starts to reverse.Simple in its concept, but executed perfectly, this video sits comfortably in twenty one pilots' videography and cements their collaborative relationship with Donoho, following five prior projects across the last few years.&nbsp;&nbsp;
