Kyryl Volovych directs an evocative promo for Ukranian artist Entely, a dance piece filmed in Kyiv this year. Blended as an interconnected whole through dance, a young couple express a spectre of deep emotions through their bodies in a contemporary choreographed piece, shot on 16mm film by DoP Borya Borysov.Set against a backdrop of breathtaking architecture, it's a true visual feat, even more so given the location and circumstances in which it was shot, and the text at the end of the video sums up the concept and the meaning behind the visual:"Prosa is a sensual poetic story representing an 'amalgamation of souls' - an expression used to describe a deep emotional, intellectual & spiritual connection between the people. Invisible unity that is reflected in interpersonal behaviour. This bond is not subject to external factors, as it is metaphysical, it can never be destroyed, not in distress, not in grief, nor amidst the war."

Symone Ridgell presents Joey Bada$$ in beefcake mode for the sultry Fallin'.Blending a photographic, dreamlike aesthetic and an alluring performance, the video is a sensual ride that matches the lilting track - and sees Joey channelling his gentle side, kicking back to smell the roses.“Joey and I collaborated on the idea of a surrealistic set, by mounting the bed onto a wall and keeping everything in-camera," explains Ridgell."We leaned into the ways in which falling in love can feel like being high and coming down. Since there’s no romantic interest in the video, the rose is both the feminine and our symbolic drug."Joey lights the flower on fire, sniffs, and coughs it up. Overall, Fallin’ is a tone poem that explores the contrasting and complex ways in which falling for someone can feel either horrifying or spectacular. It’s your choice of which high to ride.”

Jordan Rossi directs an empassioned promo for South African singer-songwriter, actor and novelist Nakhane, featuring Perfume Genius, with a work that takes its cue from some pillars of Queer cinema and art. The video for Do You Well begins with Nakhane and their love interest glistening under sparkling lights in a studio space, and then battling to create a common ground, before finally connecting with each other. Gorgeous and thrilling, the video visualises a complex set of emotions in a stylish and thought-provoking manner, and the end result is wonderfully alluring. "Nakhane already had a concept for this video," Rossi reveals. "It was very much centred around a wrestling encounter between two people in a homoerotic fashion. They wanted to express the idea of a duel and the ridiculous nature of aggressive masculinity."Nakhane and I drew inspiration from lots of Queer art and cinema such as Pink Narcissus by James Bidgood, Querelle by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Moonlight by Barry Jenkins and Sebastien by Derek Jarman. We also looked at features like Fight Club and Shame - both dealing with masculinity, sex and relationships in a unique manner."Visually, I wanted a really deep and textured image with lots of energy. Tony Scott's turbulent yet cinematically rich style of compressed imagery was a huge source of inspiration here. "It's not every day you get to make projects such as this so a huge shout out goes to Faye who commissioned it, the record label for giving us complete creative freedom and Nakhane for being such a trusting collaborator."

Sophie Muller directs a mesmeric performance promo for Kylie Minogue. In fact, this is Kylie, pure and simple - no distractions at all.So for Miss A Thing, we just have the glamourous disco diva, dripping in diamante, luxuriating in her domain - a black studio space. Shot by Robbie Ryan - and filmed on the vintage ikegami 79D TV cameras that were also used for the Kiss Of Life video - Muller just trusts in the sheer iconic status of her subject to prove you can remove everything else, and make a great Kylie video. In fact, distilling everything to the essentials just makes it better. Footage is layered into a hypnotic montage, with simple mirror VFX enhancing the mood, with the vintage camera adding texture. It is a characteristially Muller-esque display of confidence in its own simplicity. She knows that every so often, less is more.

Margot Bowman reunites with Charlotte Dos Santos to direct a tender performance promo for Hello Hello. Boasting soft pastel studio setups and a gentle, hazy aesthetic, the video sees the artist get intimate with a male character, interspersed with moments of them both on the phone to each other, fantasising about their connection.Bowman works with DoP Natalie Pitters to create a sensual, nostalgic style through the use of fluid textures and romantic lighting, elevating the conceptual nature of the piece.

SOB's latest music video for Hendrix Harris is a darkly, immersive film revolving around a night of seduction.Featuring actress Louisa Fernando, the directing duo - Eseosa Ohen and Joe Sha - create an enigmatic tension between the pair, the suggestion of erotic roleplay and a sense of the pair of lovers grappling with issues of trust.The video carries many of the directing duo's trademarks - rich textures, splendid art direction and an abstract narrative - and matches the addictive soundscapes in the track. Hazy, blurred cinematography elevates the sensual mood of the project, and a clever use of lighting effects creates a heightened, dreamy feel.
