Ben Hardy, Benji Reeves and Nathan Ritson collaborate on a remarkable music video told through a distinctive form of character puppetry for Brighton band Glasshouse Red Spider Mite's second single. The dark and haunting video for Thorns In My Mouth weaves a story of ever-building conflict with a method that harks back to the days before cinema - silhouette puppets, hand-crafted and operated by puppeteer Ritson, illuminated by light against a screen.Taking on different key roles within the project, Ben Hardy oversees the direction, as well as cinematography and editing, whilst the band's drummer Benji Reeves takes on the creative direction. Ritson's puppets blend humanlike features with unusual decorative details, to powerful and mysterious effect. It's an exciting fusion of artistic disciplines, painstakingly captured and formed into a breathtaking video project.
