Åsa Lucander's lovely video for Coldplay takes a mixed media approach to tell the story of a girl lost at sea, alone in a rowing boat sailing towards the unknown.

Using live action puppetry, digitally painted sets and 2D animation, the tapestry of styles in the Daddy video combine to create a world of turbulent sea and sea creatures, that embody the girl's memories of her dad.  The result is wonderful and poignant - a rare music video but characteristically superbly-crafted piece from Aardman Animation in Bristol.

Director Åsa Lucander explains the process, from concept and storyboard to the skilful execution, in her behind the scenes blog
