Katie Burdon directs a contemplative promo for Bonnie Kemplay. Contained in the four walls of her bedroom, we see the artist contemplate life and past relationships, as she practices self-care and waters her houseplant. Watching memories back on an old TV, the anachronistic vibes perfectly suit the grungey alt-pop sound, and the climactic, neon-tinged ending adds an abstract vibe to the concept.

Shygirl inhabits an icy dreamworld in Yasser Abubeker's promo for Firefly. The ethereal video moves at a gentle pace, blending a sense of Noughties nostalgia with contemporary flair. Centred on understated performance and otherworldly art direction, the video is deeply hypnotic and transcendent, lingering in viewers' brains long after watching it.

Roisino creates a surreal vision for Eddy Luna's What's The Difference. The psychedelic promo explores a trippy world with stylised avant-garde spaces, referencing early noughties R&B video aesthetics. Art direction and bursts of colour are central to the concept, and Luna thrives within the fantastical environment. Anchored by a laidback performance and off-kilter cinematography, it's another excellent visual from Roisino, which lends itself perfectly to her abstract style.

Fantasista 'Uta' Utamaro directs an imaginative animated lyric video for dance producer Nitecore. The video tells the story of a missing heartbeat and the power of memory, in a beautifully distorted blend of anime, coding and artistry, by the director who recently won a BAFTA with fellow Nexus animation team Factory Fifteen for BBC's Olympics idents for Tokyo 2020.For the concept for Heatbeat, Uta was inspired by the Balengiaca YouTube channel and quantum physics, and he put together an all-Japanese dream team, including award-winning typographer Tadahiro Gunji, to create the visuals. Contemporary visuals combine with Noughties nostalgia, layering distinctive aesthetics which clash in a hypnotic amalgam. Utamaro's affinity for pop culture shines throughout, and he incorporates just the right amount of individual elements to create something markedly unique.

Easy Life embrace new roles as bikers and beekeepers, in Racer's dynamic promo for Beeswax. Shot at the legendary Ace Café in North London, the video builds upon the director duo's frenetic visual style, with off-kilter camera angles and lo-fi animation techniques, boasting new perspectives and an absorbing aesthetic. Featuring a dedicated honey-eating performance by frontman Murray Matravers, the video is a bold step in the right direction for both the artist and creative team, and a refreshing take on the early Noughties trend.

Aidan Zamiri directs a fabulous lo-fi romp for Swedish rapper Yung Lean and FKA twigs. The video for Bliss sees twigs waiting to be picked up for the prom by Lean - messaging him on Microsoft Excel in true Nelly & Kelly fashion - and eventually going on a very British, very lo-fi journey through suburbia.There's a horse, a car with chandeliers attached to the front and a frantic older woman chauffeuring them around... and that's all in the first few moments. In true twigs fashion, it's off-the-wall but surprisingly fluid, and plays to Zamiri's Noughties fashion sensibilities. The whole video looks like it was shot on Hi8 - and it's brilliantly edited by Jack Foster and Zamiri.Most importantly, they make a great pairing of contrasting attitudes that entirely rings true for the concept: Lean is playing it cool, and managing to be almost entirely deadpan; while twigs is arguably at her most coquettish. It really is Bliss.

Jack Lightfoot directs a touching exploration of brotherhood, in his promo for Sam Tompkins' latest single. Starring real-life siblings Sonnyboy and Buddy Skelton, the video for My Brother interweaves several narrative vignettes, set in an anachronistic, early Noughties time period. In the concept, the younger of the two brothers - Buddy - is struggling to connect with Sonnyboy, and feels left out when trying to spend time with him. This all changes when their father dies, and the two form an unbreakable bond and friendship. "It was great to team up with Sam again, this time in the director's chair," says Lightfoot. "Sam came up with the narrative, and having a younger brother myself it really struck a chord with me - we've certainly been through many similar situations together - sorry Tom! "I was delighted that we managed to land Sonnyboy and Buddy for the lead roles - they're such a talented family and look great on camera, they really took this video to the next level. Big thanks as always to the production, artist, and label dream teams involved."

LOOSE brings the Y2K vibes for new girlband FLO's debut video. The video for Cardboard Box captures the girl's personalities and playful energy, as they take on roles as both artist and director in the concept. Against a bright white cyc background, the mixture of performance, choreography and faux-BTS shots create a dynamic and nostalgic energy. And some viewers may also celebrate the parallels between this and an early Noughties video for the Sugababes.
