videoDeclan J Donovan 'Tangerine Skies' by Jack Lightfoot & James DeardenJack Lightfoot and James Dearden direct a daft and endearing fake-travelogue video for Declan J Donovan's Tangerine Skies - remotely directing a DIY green-screen shoot. Traversing beaches, iconic landmarks and partying with beautiful women, Declan is living a musician's dream -theoretically. But of course it's all just stock footage and he's in a living room in Essex. That just adds to the charm of the visual. Diving headfirst into setting up cameras, lights and a greenscreen, the singer-songwriter brings an enthusiasm and energy that radiates on-screen, adding to the happy-go-lucky DIY aesthetic. And he also contributes to the meta-level fun by adding his witty comments between set-ups. JACK LIGHTFOOT & JAMES DEARDEN:"This was the first music promo we rolled out under lockdown. All the equipment was sent to Declan's house, and over video call, we guided him and his family through the setup. We then ran live camera feeds and compositing to production and label across a two day shoot."It was actually great fun taking a different spin on a typical production setup, and making something so daft amongst all the madness."
