Gliiico 'Don't Eat Don't Sleep' by Jackson Lee Forsythe

David Knight - 28th Aug 2026
Jackson Lee Forsythe creates an atmospheric, violent noir for boundary-blurring Tokyo-based outfit Gliiico.
For Don't Eat Don't Sleep, Forsythe creates a neon-drenched world where the main protagonist - one of the de Torres brothers that comprise Gliiico - goes on a murderous rampage. The narrative serves a track than moves between urgency and unease, with its repeated warnings of 'don’t sleep' and 'don’t freak'. It's relentless - and so is he, crossing the city to dispatch numerous unfortunate victims. It is not for the fainthearted.
With the fast-moving narrative through Tokyo's seedy underbelly, sense of existential nihilism and grisly violence based around a psychopathic killer, there are echoes of Daniel Wolfe's classic for Shoes' Time To Dance here. But Forsythe has also created a distinctive vision of the Toyko underworld, a harsh yet alluring underworld.
The track comes from Gliiico's newly released album The Veil, out now via Cantora Records.
