Haich Ber Na 'Seeing Signs' by David Heofs

Promonews - 27th July 2026
David Heofs follows Haich Ber Na through Madrid as he encounters a cast of real-life characters with extraordinary talents, hidden obsessions and unusual stories.
Shot during the Brirish musician's stay in Madrid as part of the tour for his EP Music for Making Friends, Heofs's video for Seeing Signs is a documentary portrait of the city through the people who quietly make it extraordinary. It's also a stylistic departure for the director who has directed acclaimed videos for Omar Apollo, Deftones and Dellafuente.
Rather than constructing a fictional narrative, the music video follows real people whose exceptional passions and skills exist naturally within everyday life. Guinness World Record holders, yo-yo players, pizza-spinning masters, Paraguayan folk dancers, urban cyclists and other remarkable individuals become part of a series of observational encounters that blur the boundaries between documentary filmmaking and the language of contemporary music videos.
In this new work, David Heofs continues to explore his interest in portraying real people and cultural phenomena through the language of contemporary music video. Produced by Bandiz, the video was shot over eight days using a collection of vintage broadcast and consumer cameras, embracing the visual language of analogue and early digital video.
