Belarus-born, German-based director and stand-up comedian Veronika Bolotina addresses the pressing issue of affordable housing in a very relatable fashion in her video for German duo Used.

The video for Lazy Morning is set in a small Berlin apartment, into which a young woman drags her suitcases. She's a new arrival and guest of her friend, who is planning to stay a few days before finding her own place. But that's not quite how it turns out.

The film follows the young woman's increasingly dispiriting and desperate attempst to find her own affordable flat from scrolling through ads, struggling to keep herself together with routine and self-care rituals, but dented by failure and exhaustion. 

With sensitive direction, a number of imaginative visual techniques and a strong central performance, Bolotina keeps the viewer entralled throughout. By the end, you care about this character and what will happen next for her - and there's a suggestion we will find out. A promising debut.
