In Peter Haueis's latest visual for Felix Müller, aka The Offline, a man with a big golden helmet ride a scooter to deliver a small blue fish.

That's the long and short of it really, and the concise - and offbeat - concept in the lo-fi, camcorder-shot promo for Le Motard (French for 'biker' is what makes it so fun to watch. As the man wanders through arid fields and deserted landscapes, he eventually stumbles upon a couple of clowns amusing themselves at a picnic table. But are they waiting for the main course?

The playful and offbeat approach is very much in keeping with Haueis's previous videos for the German artist, including for La Mission Commence and Un Bout De Chemin, and vaguely continuing an ongoing storyline as he explains.

"The shooting of the video and means of production were very much inspired by the hands-on mentality of videography in the late 90s and early 2000s, when camcorders and digital video formats became very accessible to low-budget filmmakers," says Haueis. "The ease of use of the cameras allowed for being very playful during the process, and at the same time the results could be really cinematic.

"This is what we wanted to achieve with the video for Le Motard. To create a strange and silly story that integrates the characters of the previous videos of our ongoing series. But this time, The Offline and The Deadline are on vacation and we follow a new character instead.

"We really wanted to make this character of the motorcyclist in the typical 'The Offline' way: It turns out that he's a very serious-looking guy whose helmet is a bit too big, who has made friends with a fish, and who rides a small old-school scooter from the '70s."

And that's that.
