Nia Archives 'So Tell Me…' by Dan Emmerson & Nia Archives
Rob Ulitski - 17th Jan 2023
Nia Archives takes a contemplative walk through late-night London, in the video for So Tell Me...
Co-directed by Dan Emmerson and the artist herself, the video intercuts the gentle performance section with a series of slow-shutter vignettes, depicting the complex relationship between a young couple.
Showing their lives in separate (yet interconnected) scenes, the video hints at the bond between them, which is confirmed at the end of the video when they detach from their different groups of friends to finally meet up.
The bittersweet, romantic concept is beautifully executed, with the frantic cinematography reflecting the contrast of the track - a jungle beat set against melancholic melodies. Wonderful work.
