Pedro Takahashi directs a tongue-in-cheek footie-themed video for indie-rock band Hotel Lux. 

Playing out in split screen for almost the entire video, the video for National Team presents a simultaneous juxtaposition of 'real' vs 'imagined' scenarios, bringing to life a football fantasy and a rowdy crowd of supporters.

And the video 'recreates' in a charmingly rudimentary fashion, some of the most notorious moments from the Beautiful Game's most prestigious, now sadly tarnished tournament.

"Whilst keeping in line with the self-deprecating tone of the song, I also wanted to tap into the underlying sense of melancholy in the lyrics that explore the theme of having dreams, whilst constantly falling short of them," Takahashi explains.
