Lily Rose Thomas directs a strongly relatable promo for Bessie Turner's Rushing. 

In contrast to the title of the track, the first three-quarters of the video is captured in a handful of lingering slow-zooms, with Turner placed at different positions in her flat. The mood is one of someone atuck inside, filling time, and becoming steadily more stir crazy.

But then it jumps into a frenzied climax, where the camera is let loose and the artist's performance becomes suitably untethered. The journey of the visuals reflects that of the lyrics, and is captured with a cool cinematic eye by Lily Rose Thomas - heavily pregnant at the time.

Letting the action unfold in long takes... gave us an authentic, relatable feel. 

"The song really reminds me of living in the chaos of repetitive behaviour; always trying to catch up with yourself but never quite being able to grasp control. I wanted the video to evoke this chaos that I think of when I hear it - of nights, weekends and mornings after.

"The claustrophobia of this behaviour comes from being in one location and one direction only and slowly moving in closer and closer until there’s nowhere to hide. Letting the action unfold in very long takes that almost let Bessie forget the camera was there gave us an authentic, relatable feel.

"The process of making this video was really collaborative with the DoP Rik Burnell and Bessie, with the look inspired by photographers who we both love, and who was kind enough to invite us shoot in her own flat. Thanks to the amazing production and crew who made it all possible to shoot this when I was 37 weeks pregnant!"
