Mathilda Homer 'I'm Sorry' by Reuben Bastienne-Lewis
Promonews - 5th July 2021
Mathilde Homer arrives at a café to deliver a heartfelt mea culpa in Reuben Bastienne-Lewis's clever one-shot video for I'm Sorry.
Demonstrating the subjectivity of time - and in particular the idea that hours can fly by when you're having 'make or break' conversations with loved ones - Bastienne-Lewis achieves a seamless transition from day to night and then back again, from the moment Mathilde takes her seat to address the important person in her life, represented by the camera.
The singer-songwriter's affecting performance reflects the track - which speaks on the stages of wanting to open up and resolve but only being able to muster up an apology (or several) - and keeps the audience riveted.
