Cal Bain directs a delicately handcrafted promo for Lycoriscoris' Shizumu (沈む). 

Translated to mean, 'to sink', we see a handdrawn character on-screen, who falls perpetually through a network of dazzling environments.

Utilising mesmerising colour schemes - which transition and blend into each other seamlessly as the character falls - the video is a pure delight to watch, and a throwback to more analogue techniques. 

The original character modeling and pre-viz reference stills were created in Blender 3D. Each frame was then hand-drawn using Procreate on an iPad. The video also features stop-frame animation using personal photographs taken by Lycoriscoris, in the Japanese countryside near his hometown, close to Okayama.
