Kit Trigg 'Cry' by Joshua Trigg
Rob Ulitski - 3rd June 2020
Joshua Trigg directs a story of revenge for his younger brother Kit Trigg.
Shot on 16mm, the narrative section of the video takes place at a skate park, where the lead character's love interest is seen dismissing any attempt at conversation. The character- played by another member of the Trigg family, youngest brother Beau- is teased and ignored until he finally snaps. Chaos ensues as he flees in a panic and is chased out of the area by the group.
A performance section intercuts the narrative, with Kit in his bedroom listening to old vinyl and playing a variety of instruments.
Nostalgic and yearnful for the 90s/ early 00's, the visual is a mix of British and American themes and iconography, paying homage to skating culture and unrequited love.
