Larkins 'Are We Having Any Fun Yet?' by Grandmas

Rob Ulitski - 11th May 2020

A nighttime accident sets off an unusual chain of events in Grandmas' vision for Larkins' Are We Having Any Fun Yet?

Having been taken out by a car, frontman Josh Noble stumbles through a maze of underpasses, streets and traffic, crossing paths with a series of enigmatic strangers who look just as out of place as he does.

Each character has an unusually calm demeanour and a fascination with Noble, which questions whether this is just a really unlucky night, or a visualisation of him crossing the life/death boundary following the accident.

Beautifully shot by DoP Harry Wheeler, the heavy grain and vibrant colour palette creates a strangely hyperrealist aesthetic, punctuated by moments of surrealism and introspection.
