The perils of fast-paced celebrity culture are joyfully skewered in Ian Sweeney aka Vision Thing's "boogie-infused" video for Auckland artist Randa (aka Mainard Larkin).

In this video - which won the best music video award at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards last year, Randa becomes an appendage/hostage to success when their belly button transforms into a star vocalist and goes viral. The video is a cautionary tale — Randa's talented tummy is discovered online, they hit the studio, the hangers-on arrive and substances are ingested.

A comic cautionary tale that pays homage to both body horror and the darker side of fame, the video is full of frenetic surrealism balanced with tongue-in-cheek humour, and a brilliantly deadpan performance from Randa throughout.
