Jack Savoretti 'Christmas Morning' by Karni & Saul
Rob Ulitski - 24th Dec 2019
A family of animated duvet-dwellers experience the magic of Christmas in Karni Arieli and Saul Freed's video for Jack Savoretti's seasonal offering.
Arieli and Freed use their characteristically well-crafted use of CGI with live action to bring us into the magical world of these characters, who are living snugly within the duvet of a sleeping child's bed.
The sky is lit up with millions of tiny stars, the terrain built from layers of cotton and down. In a car, the dad of the family winds around the mountainous regions of the quilt, getting back home just in time for the end of Christmas Eve. Finally free from the stresses of life, he can relax and spend the most magical time of year with his wife and young children.
Charming and beautifully executed, the project is achieved through a mix of live-action and animation, paying homage to iconic Christmas videos of the past. The visual is family-friendly and universal, with a story that is perfectly pitched for the time of year.
