White Lies 'Morning In LA' by Chris Hugall
White Lies have released this video remake of Killing Joke's Love Like Blood for their track Morning In LA, directed by Chris Hugall. The resulting performance video is a great imitation of its source material's aesthetic - due in large part to the successfully 80s treatment by DoP Arthur Loveday.
"When White Lies started out, their music was described with a fair number of gothic adjectives. They always found this quite funny, so we decided to make a tongue-in-cheek homage to all things 80s goth-pop.
"The band have wanted to do a performance video for a while, and the Killing Joke video from which this is respectfully stolen is an absolute classic. For the last few years it has seemed that almost every new film released is a remake, so we thought this was an interesting topic to explore – and one that always sparks debate."
