For El Guincho's Pizza, Alberto Blanco focusses on the addictive quality of the classic Italian fast food. In fact, in his riveting and atmospheric video, pizza is the new crack. 

Alberto describes the idea as “The Wire meets pizza,” and he's created a surprisingly serious and hardboiled  cinematic narrative around the funny premise. It follows the shady, nighttime dealings of drug lord El Guincho and his network of spinners, slicers, cookers and pushers - as well as the SWAT teams who are after them.

Playing out like a clip from a movie or TV show with El Guincho at its amoral centre, the video achieves a dark, ambiguous tone. And it makes us question whether or not to take pizza-dealing seriously...
