Oscar 'Beautiful Words' by Laurie Lynch
Laurie Lynch's second video for Oscar is in stark contrast to his first for Daffodil Days, a gritty drama which Lynch discusses in the latest episode of Ruthless Cuts. For the nostalgic pop of Beautiful Words he has delivered a straight performance video with Oscar Scheller performing in front of colourful and abstract film projections.
The video was inspired by American visual artist James Turrell, and plays out like an experimental moving image screening, with a focus on the expressive potential of colour, pattern and texture.
