Beki Mari directs a dazzling live video&nbsp;for Glass Animals' sleeper hit phenomenon Heat Waves, shot at the Dreamland theme park in Margate for the band's recent guest spot on&nbsp;The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.Glass Animals' frontman Dave Bayley roams the Americana-style park, which is buzzing with light and colour but deserted save from his performing bandmates - which also shares the name with the album (released in 2020) from which this huge hit came.&nbsp;Mari has made extensive use of FPV drone technology&nbsp;to create a dizzying camera moves around Bayley while he performs. It's a very successful conceptualisation of the nostalgic world evoked by the song, and beautifully executed.There is also a tinge of loneliness to the concept, highlighting the absence of crowds and collective fun due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, during which this was filmed - epitomised by the atmospheric shot of Bayley's walking among&nbsp;the huge letters of the Dreamland sign.

Camille Dauteuille and Clément Dozier - aka AB/CD/CD - return to music videos with a real bobby dazzler for indie vet Tim Burgess's Empathy For The Devil.And as the songtitle suggests, this provides an intriguing twist on our usual take on The Horned One, in an ambitious narrative featuring Charlie Cattrall as a mischievous but surprisingly mortal&nbsp;Beelzebub.This particular Devil, somehow&nbsp;called up to Earth by a bride on her wedding day, and causing a right royal ruckus at her party, is an attention seeker&nbsp;with some underlying behavioural issues. Burgess provides a watchful eye over him, as we find out about the unhappiness behind his naughtiness, and his true role is revealed.&nbsp;This devil is a whipping boy for human frustration and frailty - and Burgess is able to show him sympathy, and possibly empathy too.Produced and shot in Belgium, photographed by DoP Sander Vandenbroucke (in 1.666 ratio),&nbsp;this freewheeling comic fantasy&nbsp;works really well with the&nbsp;jaunty folk-rock of Empathy Of The Devil.&nbsp;And with their background in conceptual, visual effects-based work, it also serves notice that&nbsp;AB/CD/CD have come of age as exciting&nbsp; storytellers.&nbsp;

Sigrid teleports between daytime reality and nighttime craziness -&nbsp;featuring&nbsp;rollerskating ghosts, a party-riot, and escaping from a marching band in a supermarket - in French directing duo AB/CD/CD's&nbsp;effervescent, vibrantly&nbsp;inventive&nbsp;video for Sucker Punch.The directors - that's Camille Dauteuille and Clément Dozier - were inspired by the eclectic nature of Sucker Punch to dispatch Sigrid into a series of mad adventures when daylight literally switches off. And then, with more brilliantly executed&nbsp;transitions, she gets thrown into her next daytime scene.While DoP Rob Witt's superb photography makes&nbsp;her larger than life,&nbsp;the art direction involved bringing in some distinctly&nbsp;Norwegian features to give Sigrid a taste of her homeland - like jumping through her own-branded taco boxes to escape that marching band. And it culminates in a swirl of tiny vignettes where she&nbsp;actually throws punches and turns into two animated avatars - including a seriously powerful 'anime' Sigrid. The growing sense that Héloïse Letissier, aka Christine and the Queens, aka &#39;Chris&#39;, is an artist apart from all the others, marching to her own tune, is strengthened by this collaboration with Colin Solal Cardo for the video for Doesn&#39;t Matter.It begins with her lying flat out on a deserted carpark, as if she has fallen from the heights of her previous video for Girlfriend. But from that prone position, she then demonstrates her strength, sensitivity, sense of fun, and her fighting spirit, as over the next few minutes we see a relationship played out&nbsp;through choreography.Working with with dancer&nbsp;Romain Guillermic, Chris gives a performance of remarkable physicality and charisma, and unbound by traditional conventions of feminity within music videos. As Solal Cardo explains below, that was exactly the objective, and the result is genuinely groundbreaking.The video is here in&nbsp;both the English-language and French-language versions of the song.&nbsp;

On a movie set, a guy in a space alien mask waits for his big scene to start shooting - and AB/CD/CD begin to blur the parameters of movie-reality, in their stylish video for French artist DeLaurentis.The video for A Big Part Of A Big Sun plays with the viewer&#39;s perceptions in a very alluring way, where at first you&#39;re watching some kind of low-budget sci-fi&nbsp;movie being made - very satisfying in itself &ndash;&nbsp;but then in a rather surreal twist, the making of the movie becomes the movie itself. And then, arguably, it becomes the making of the movie again.The simple, powerfully visual elements involved here - the movie set, the eyes behind the alien face, the young girl with the chrome-silver gun - end up delivering a sad poignancy that works beautifully with DeLaurentis&#39;s haunting alt-pop.

Set in a not-so-far away future, on a distant Earth-like planet, three teens embark on a journey that leads to a once in a lifetime experience, in Lisa Paclet&rsquo;s video for Darius.The underlying coming-of-age narrative accompanies stunning visuals and otherwordly effects (courtesy of Parisian post-production house, Saint-Louis), and the film&#39;s&nbsp;themes of adventure and overcoming fear was inspired by the director&#39;s own &#39;cliff-jumping&#39; in her youth, as well as&nbsp;the optmistic energy of Darius&#39; track Lost in The Moment.The heroine, played by fresh-faced Raph (nominated for the 2017 César awards &laquo;Most Promising Actress&raquo; category), encites the viewer to take the leap as well and lose themselves in the music.

French Directing duo Allen &amp; Smithee have created a sunny, seedy&nbsp;summertime scene in their NSFW video for Alexandre Chatelard.Focusing on a set of retired married couples baking away on an idyllic beach, all seems to be ticking over nicely until one fellow&nbsp;notices&nbsp;three sexy denim-clad mermaids washed up on shore.With nothing but good intentions (obviously)&nbsp;the man&nbsp;attempts to&nbsp;revive these topless sirens from the sea and, of course, abandons his&nbsp;unimpressed yet immaculately dressed wife&nbsp;to play a nice game of volleyball. It&#39;s the classic holiday story you hear about year after year.Of course, like any holiday, nothing good can last forever and this lovely (albeit quite sexist) time gets cut abruptly short and leaves our hero&nbsp;looking a tad foolish. It&#39;s a very funny video with a combination of camera movement and facial expressions being utilised masterfully in order to sell some great visual punchlines.
