Eoin Glaister reunites with Glass Animals with his first video for the band since 2017 - and takes their band's fans down a complex&nbsp;a complex conspiracy rabbit hole courtesy of YouTuber TinFoilPat.The video is for&nbsp;The Other Side of Paradise,&nbsp;originally released on the How To Be A Human Being album and now revived to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the album - which also featured Pork Soda and Agnes, which have Glaister-directed videos. It features TinFoilPat as a superfan of the band, revealing to his Youtube community about the&nbsp;rumour that lead singer&nbsp;Dave Bayley has been replaced by a clone (or clones). And then follows his mission to uncover 'the truth'.[imgtoken data:1]The band were not available to feature in the music video, so Glaister has employed various techniques to build his narrative. Firstly he chose to lean on archive footage from their iconic concert at Red Rocks, and construct a narrative arc that starts with the moment Dave sang “my thunder shook him down” in perfect sync with real-life thunder.&nbsp;Then he sourced further on-stage clips, TikTok cutaways, generative AI, choreography and a mouse-and-cat dynamic, to create a trail of clues for TinFoilPat to uncover.The music video is also sprinkled with subtle Glass Animals fandom trivia and even features real-life moments like TinFoilPat infiltrating the Universal Music London office or calling up the front desk to accuse them of “being in” on the hoax.[imgtoken data:2]<blockquote>It felt like a full circle moment, creating promos for the album again.</blockquote>Glaister says that the fact the band were unavailable for the shoot prompted the clone idea.&nbsp;“I'd been watching TikToks with my sisters and was really taken with all the fanfare and conspiracy theories surrounding Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears and I love how ropey all of that evidence is," he explains. "They were vehicles to kick start thinking for this project. [And] the narrative that was constructed with the archive footage means that I could blend facts and fiction in a silly way, which I’m really into.[imgtoken data:3]“This is the third job I've done for Glass Animals, which means I've earned some trust with them; it’s useful for running with a really, really bizarre idea like this one. It felt like a full circle moment, creating promos for the album again.”

Teenage love fails to run smoothly in Ethan &amp; Tom's excellent take on a high school musical for Tendai.A frosty moment between Tendai and his girlfriend - played by&nbsp;Sephora Parish - is played out in the halls of a London school, in a series of well-crafted sequences that involve a sizeable supporting cast.It's of a piece with the directing duo's facility with experimental camera techniques, with a constantly moving camera, which ends up rotating around the couple.But this is also arguably Ethan &amp; Tom's most sophisticated video so far in terms of execution, with an element of dramatic tension and a proper pop video feel in terms of scale and look. A real step-up for the talented directing duo.

Directing duo Fa and Fon direct an out-of-this-world promo for&nbsp;MØ.In the suitably extraterrestrial&nbsp;video for Spaceman, we see the artist wake up in some kind of futuristic holding pod, trying to get her bearings and formulate&nbsp;an escape plan.&nbsp;Later on, she wakes up in an unusually stark&nbsp;atmosphere, revered by a group of aliens, eventually being transformed into one of them.It's a distinct contrast to the video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/01/31/m%C3%B8-new-moon-fa-fon/74746" target="_blank">New Moon</a>, the London-based director-sisters' previous collaboration with MØ, which framed the Swedish superstar as a medieval goddess. But it's also an ideal companion piece for this catchy track that boasts&nbsp;striking art direction, eccentric styling and no-holds-barred performances. And confirms that Fa and Fon are definitely ones to watch.&nbsp;

Fenn O’Meally directs a touching promo for&nbsp;Lil Silva and Sampha, combining modern and archive home video footage, filmed in&nbsp;London and Jamaica.&nbsp;The concept for new track Another Sketch&nbsp;creates a symbiotic relationship between the past and the present, connecting the two worlds and sketching a visual and cultural history, placing the act of congregation at the heart of it all.[imgtoken data:1]Utilising a mix of both newly-created and vintage footage, the film explores&nbsp;the characters and zeitgeist of each time period, through&nbsp;a celebratory, emotional lens.The video is book-ended with the text 'he waves back home', and it's&nbsp;a wonderful way to encapsulate the entire concept in one short phrase.&nbsp;"This project has a special place in my heart," says O'Meally. Leo Leigh's debut video,&nbsp;for Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's new project The Smile, is a singularly intense experience. Leigh more or less dispenses with the causes of a trauma to confront the viewer with the harrowing results. You can only watch and wonder why - while listening to the altogether more gentle Free In The Knowledge.There are a couple of remarkable performances in the video, demonstrating distress and anguish in such visceral ways that it's hard not to think that some genuinely bad stuff happened just prior to when the camera started to roll.Halfway through, there are glimpses of exposition, snatches of other characters, and a ritualistic ceremony, suggestng the power dynamic of&nbsp;this haggard forest tribe. But it's those first two minutes that leave the most powerful impression.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Malia James teams with Mimi Webb for a&nbsp;vibrantly colourful, warm and fuzzy&nbsp;take on a teenage break-up, set in a funfair - the appropriately-named Dreamland in Margate - for Halfway.Starting after&nbsp;the end of the relationship - where she thinks she sees her former love everywhere -&nbsp;we discover more about the love affair in flashback. Her heartthrob&nbsp;is there for most of it, but the spotlight is always on Mimi, as&nbsp;Malia James creates a gorgeously-crafted pop confection for the singer, employing the funfair setting to spectacular effect.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;The location played an important part in the authenticity of the story, with Webb being a local and having spent her early years on the Kent coastline.But James, herself born and raised in Texas, adds more than a touch of Americana to Margate. Which is becoming of a director who has worked with&nbsp;Halsey, MØ, Troye Sivan, Tove Lo and Rita Ora, among&nbsp;others. Now she has given Mimi Webb a shot&nbsp;at the big time.

Directing duo The Rest direct a sombre monochromatic film for James Blake &amp; slowthai's collaboration on&nbsp;Funeral.&nbsp;In the middle of a funeral procession, stuck in a traffic jam in the middle of nowhere, the artists take a break to pause, whilst the camera circles around them. Though it isn't explicitly stated, the lyrics suggest that this is their own funeral, though the abstract nature of the narrative is one of the true draws of the project.&nbsp;Culminating in one of humanity's true comforts - a takeaway, delivered by an app driver - it's a thought-provoking and unique video for a great track.&nbsp;
