This impressionistic short film,&nbsp;featuring clips from songs from DSTNCE's album Hypnos, s is Bradley Alexander's imaginative take on the journey of a mind when the body is gripped by sleep paralysis.The film was inspired by the experiences of DSTNCE's Melanie DeJesus with sleep paralysis - the state when&nbsp;during waking up or falling asleep, a person is aware but unable to move or speak. During an episode, the person may hallucinate, seeing shadowy figures or imagining sounds, like&nbsp;humming, hissing, and static noises.&nbsp;Alexander incorporates those elements into his film where a woman (Minji Money) is caught in a state of sleep paralysis, and&nbsp;Through this fever dream she is able to confront a past trauma that she has tried to suppress.

We’ve all seen the cheating boyfriend scenario plastered across popular culture. But this time MNEK switches it up for the new generation with the two sides of a cheating relationship on display, in this video he has co-directed with Jordan Rossi.&nbsp;Contrasting the daytime nature of a traditional heterosexual relationship with the dim, blinds-down setting of a motel room, we watch as one trashy boyfriend lies to both his vices in this narrative-based promo. Filled with humour and sass in equal measure the tone is backed up by a visually delicious neon aesthetic.Popping with bursts of pink, blue, red and purple -&nbsp;creating a visceral delight for fans of MNEK and very much in tune with his visual style - both narrative and performance setups are reminiscent of the old school 1990s music videos that inspired both Jordan and MNEK.&nbsp;

The song is called Lungs, but it&#39;s the heart of Shy Luv&#39;s Sam Knowles that takes a real battering here.The purple-haired girl who is the object of his affections squishes and shoots the&nbsp;metaphorical&nbsp;organ with relish, in the video directed by Humans (that&#39;s a directing collective, not the species). These scenarios are very much in his imagination, but they leave Sam in a right old state.&quot;It&rsquo;s a funny thing, fear,&quot; say Humans.&nbsp;&quot;Usually, the thing in your head is twenty times worse than the worst possible outcome in reality. Our minds can be our own worst enemies sometimes. In this video we really wanted to play with that gap between reality and fear and bring Sam&rsquo;s subconscious to life for all to see.&quot;

Thomas James&#39;s second video for Nothing But Thieves sees band frontman Conor Mason in a state of reflection, whilst nothing less than the end of days unfolds around him.Shot in Kiev, and created on a similarly&nbsp;impressive scale as James&#39; previous NBT video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/05/22/nothing-thieves-amsterdam-thomas-james" target="_blank">Amsterdam</a>, Sorry is both satisfyingly simple and detailed. A range of&nbsp;reactions to the imminent Apocalypse is sketched through a series of vignettes where individuals resort to anger, sex and murderous revenge, as well as family love and passive&nbsp;acceptance in their final hours. All the while&nbsp;everything revolves around Conor Mason, who walks past the ensuing chaos in a regretful, apologetic mood under a beating sun, towards his fate.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Sorry is about getting older and the difficulties associated with it. It&rsquo;s about looking inwards and facing your demons,&quot; comments Nothing But Thieves&#39; guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, who penned the track. &quot;The song hinges around a flawed individual who can&rsquo;t hold down a relationship, both to the detriment of themselves and their partner.&rdquo;Thomas James adds: &ldquo;The track to me felt like the last stop, a point in a relationship where you can be super honest, because it&rsquo;s the end. So we took that, and exaggerated it a teeny weeny bit, and went with the end of the world. If everyone has only got a couple of hours left &ndash; you&rsquo;re going to do and say exactly what you want. Whether that&rsquo;s poetic human honesty, or getting dominated one last time at a sex party.&rdquo;

If you could go on a date with anyone living or dead, who would it be? Alt-J made their picks and that became the basis of Young Replicant&#39;s science fiction dance film.Acting on behalf of the band, a machine in a subterranean bunker chooses Sylvia Plath, Lee Miller and Anne Boleyn, or at least it chooses their memories. Projected through small glass discs we intercut between these haunting, animated dance scenes (choreographed by Darcy Wallace) that are given a personality based on a computer&#39;s understanding of history.There&#39;s a detached, uncanny valley element to the clip - Alex Takacs aka Young Replicant&#39;s second for the band&#39;s current album, after the brilliant&nbsp;<a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/04/18/alt-j-3ww-young-replicant" target="_blank">3WW</a> earlier this year &ndash; as these renditions of historical figures live again for a fleeting moment before fading with the light of the projector.

Michal Marczak returns to collaborate once again with Thom Yorke in this previously unheard Radiohead track from the OK Computer&nbsp;era.Marking his third collaboration with Thom Yorke (the other two being Radiohead&#39;s noirish&nbsp;Indentikit&nbsp;short and the haunting marriage of nature and futurism for Mark Pritchard &amp; Thom Yorke&#39;s&nbsp;Beautiful People),&nbsp;Marczak continues to explore those uncanny futurist themes here in the haunting clip for I Promise.&nbsp;We follow a discarded animatronic head, left on the seat of a bus and gazing out of the window. As the lone android makes eye contact with passersby, we see him react more so than the humans he&#39;s faced with. Through the lens of artificial life, we are forced to look at context-free human actions in a bizarre and disconnected way.

Clara Aranovich directs an emotional love story steeped in science fiction mystery for Isaac Gracie.The US-based director made the trip over to the UK to shoot a sweet, surreal story wherein all young girls seemingly in the entire country fall under some strange catatonic spell. Focussing mostly on a primary school and its pupils, we see as a young boy tries with moderate success to awaken his friend.The clip shares a&nbsp;cinematic aesthetic laid out in films like Another Earth,&nbsp;or shows like The OA&nbsp;- tapping into otherworldly ideas of ascension in a beautifully paced short narrative piece.

DoP Yiannis Manolopoulos&#39;s cinematography establishes the mood.&nbsp;And those LED masks, programmed by Zak Norman, are very cool indeed.

Martin Garrix contemplates the past in Blake Claridge&#39;s video for Scared To Be Lonely.Followed by an omnipresent source of light from above in an otherwise darkened rural abyss, Garrix wanders the world and considers past relationships. A mixture of aspect ratios helps us switch between past and present as we witness colourful&nbsp;conquests past, atmospheric forests, steamy shower scenes and bedroom anguish steeped in shadows.Through match cuts we see the parallels between these relationships and feel a tinge of sadness at Garrix&#39;s vulnerability when he&#39;s framed alone.
