Louis De Caunes tells the story of a prophet and his disciples for Ebenezer, transplanting elements of story of Christ to a modern setting.Classic religious and mythological symbols are reinterpreted in the urban world of 2018 - including a figure&nbsp;walking on water, a Last Supper,&nbsp;and references to Michelangelo&#39;s&nbsp;The Creation of Adam. But this is a more gritty and down-home approach to the visual pillars of Christianity, than in recent videos for Ariana Grande and Travis Scott.Shot in New Orleans, with Steve Annis DoPing for De Caunes, this looks ravishing as well as being more fixed in the real world.

Fleur Fortune&#39;s compelling&nbsp;short film for Travis Scott is a neo-futurist, dystopian look at near-death experiences.Shot in Detroit, the clip starts off by essentially establishing Scott as an unlikeable figure, and one in need of redemption. A brilliantly executed long takem shot in a car interior as it moves through the Detroit streets is the build up to a narrative-altering event, and one which takes this video from gritty, realistic short film territory straight into the realm of transformative experience.A masked figure walks forwards as the world moves backward around him - buildings crumble. We assume that it&#39;s Travis himself, as he&#39;s visited from people in the earlier part of the narrative. An out-of-body experience? Purgatory? Something else entirely?The video has a strange symmetry to it, with scenes from the first half of the 15 minute short being mirrored and echoed cleverly in this much more fantastical second act. It&#39;s an ambitious and enigmatic work - being shown exclusively on&nbsp;Apple Music for 90 days - that invites repeated viewing.[imgtoken data:1]

Simon Cahn has transplanted Japanese kawaii culture into Mexico in this original video for French artist&nbsp;Breakbot&#39;s track&nbsp;2GOOD4ME.It captures the fast paced&nbsp;day-in-a-life of a young, defiant&nbsp;Lolita living in Tijuana, as&nbsp;she walks her brother to school, has a picnic with other Japanophiles, and heads to a club in&nbsp;the back of a lustful boy&#39;s truck. The video&nbsp;paints&nbsp;a portrait of&nbsp;present-day urban youth, and ends with a surreal flourish&nbsp;as the girl hovers&nbsp;over the city on her walk back home.&nbsp;Upon the video&#39;s release,&nbsp;Cahn explained to&nbsp;<a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/29289/1/watch-breakbot-s-trippy-ode-to-japanese-subculture-in-mexico" target="_blank">Dazed</a>:&nbsp;&ldquo;The link between Mexican and Japanese culture is weirdly very strong in Mexico. It&rsquo;s very unexpected and interesting&hellip;I decided to play with this Japanese/Mexican link. All the characters are real people from Tijuana and non-professional actors.&ldquo;The video, for me, is like the 24-hour rollercoaster of emotions of a young woman; travelling abruptly from comedy to anger, from joy to pain etc. Working with a non-classic narration, I wanted to embody all these different emotions with the structure of the video echoing the feelings of someone intoxicated.&quot;

Rod (who has looked after himself)&nbsp;makes a brief appearance too, and Mark Ronson, as this whirlwind of scenes of partying, drugs and girls reveals present-day Rocky in all his current gorgeousness.There&#39;s a&nbsp;&#39;money can&#39;t buy&nbsp;happiness&#39;&nbsp;message in there somewhere, but Rocky still comes out as more of a carpe diem&nbsp;type of guy...&nbsp;

Dizzee is just as badass in this one, but in a different way:&nbsp;he&#39;s the ninja master, training a small army of warriors, and using his own telepathic powers to defeat the bad guy - doing&nbsp;some serious damage to a Buddhist temple in the process.It&#39;s another brilliant&nbsp;production job by Division in Paris too, another marvellous collaboration between Dizzee and Émile. And we trust this baby will be sticking around...&nbsp;

Has there ever been such a grisly, blood-spattered, graphically violent gorefest of a video as this?Emile Sornin&#39;s promo for Dizzee Rascal&#39;s Couple Of Stacks arrives on the spookily warm Halloween of 2014 as a premiere on Vice - and not even on YouTube. That&#39;s no doubt due to it&#39;s unspeakably gory content. But there&#39;s also something else going on here - the elusive element that the old 70s and 80s&nbsp;classics of the genre had, and generally&nbsp;lacking nowadays - actual Horror.In fact, thank god Dizzee is in here, a fairly comforting presence, even as a machete-wielding psychopath. Everyone else, as in the highly memorable dining room scene, looks absolutely terrified. Which makes the viewer terrified.&nbsp;&nbsp;In short, Emile Sornin does a remarkable job, walking a line between&nbsp;cult comedy horror, and a harrowing gut-wrenching terror - sometimes in the same shot. Its an absolute belter for All Hallows Eve, and there&#39;s more to come.Couple Of Stacks is just the first half of a Dizzee and Emile &#39;Z-movie&#39; double-bill. Look out for the &#39;ninja&nbsp;movie&#39; vid next month...&nbsp;

The minimalist electronica and deadpan wit of&nbsp;Tiga&#39;s Bugatti has inspired a brilliant video by Helmi - driven&nbsp;by the rhythms of the track, witty, sexy, and the complete&nbsp;opposite of minimalist. The inspirations are essentially, 80s surrealism (particularly the album cover design of Hipgnosis) and alpine sports, conflated into a stream of imagery that offers up more things each time you watch it. Great stuff - and we had a little chat about it, and other stuff,&nbsp;with Helmi...&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PROMO: The Bugatti promo is wonderfully surreal and provocative.&nbsp; What inspired it?HELMI:&nbsp;Merci. The Bugatti music video was inspired by Tiga, love for the 80&rsquo;s and the new wave. I love working within the universe of the artist so I began to read and watch everything I could on this period as well as the references. It&#39;s more &laquo;pop&raquo; culture than a specific period. I took inspiration from everything I found cool. For me it&#39;s one of the most interesting parts of the job and of course the internet help&rsquo;s a lot. ;)&nbsp;You&rsquo;ve already developed a unique style which is apparent in all four of the videos you&#39;ve made at Division in Paris.&nbsp;Who/what have your influences been so far?My influences are all the 90&rsquo;s music videos I watched as kid. That&#39;s what makes me want to make music videos. All the Gondry, Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham... All these masters have influenced me!What do you hope to achieve over the next year?&nbsp; What are you currently working on?My prospects for the next two years.... To just have more and more fun on each project and meet new cool people. I&rsquo;m writing and testing new concepts but if &laquo;I tell you I have to kill you...&raquo; :) &nbsp;Your ideas are fresh and contemporary - so do you feel frustrated that some artists/labels are more inclined to &lsquo;play it safe&rsquo; with their choice of videos? &nbsp;Has this affected your work?I&rsquo;m not frustrated with my ideas. People are always waiting for new things and sometimes its a good time and sometimes you are too early or even too late. I don&rsquo;t feel any pressure by the label or artist if they don&rsquo;t like an idea. I can&rsquo;t force them but I have to find a better way to sell my ideas. It&rsquo;s amazing when you are on the same page as an artist. This is what happened with Tiga. It was just perfect to work like this...Is there a particular musician/artist you want to work with soon?I would love to work with Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Notorious BIG, 2-Pac, Amy Winehouse, Freddy Mercury, Elton John...&nbsp;But more seriously I would love to work with&nbsp;top charts artist&nbsp;like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Daft Punk, Kanye West. Maybe one day! I&rsquo;m listening to a lot of The Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus... The only important thing &nbsp;for me is if I like the music then I&#39;ll do it, no matter the artist. And now for something explosive. And also tender, and thought-provoking.&nbsp;Fleur &amp; Manu&#39;s latest video, for the Sydney trio Movement&#39;s track Ivory, is a frank exploration of sexual intimacy between a young couple. It&#39;s all about&nbsp;sex - but it&#39;s also about love.&nbsp;A young couple, nude, recline on a bed, and then they begin to perform sex. It is real and natural,&nbsp;but then it becomes frozen, abstracted &ndash; literally framed - where both parties view themselves from without,and then becomes lost in surrealism. &nbsp;This is brave work - and frankly, very French - with courageous performances from the boy and girl. Maybe it will be the&nbsp;most controversial of the year so far - for all the right reasons.&nbsp;

The stunning parade&nbsp;of imagery in Jonas &amp; Francois&#39;s spectacular&nbsp;video for&nbsp;Jack White&#39;s&nbsp;Lazaretto&nbsp;includes a screeching Corvette, a seriously raging bull, lots of&nbsp;exploding digital&nbsp;glass and, of course, Jack and his very awesome guitar-playing.&nbsp;It all adds up to&nbsp;a triumph: more commercial, yet more rock &#39;n roll than any video he&#39;s previously done. And it feels like a proper statement of intent. Jack may have quickly apologised for leaked comments about the Black Keys owing their sound to The White Stripes&nbsp;this past week, but this takes on all-comers,&nbsp;designed to destroy all pretenders to his crown. Jack is most certainly back.

David Brent immortalised the boss you love to hate in The Office, that boss that you&#39;ve all had at least once. In&nbsp;Disclosure&#39;s &#39;Grab Her&#39;, Emile Sornin returns to the scene creating the boss who is so dislikeable everything&nbsp;he touches is physically repelled.&nbsp;Continuous laugh-out-loud moments lead up to a climax that can&#39;t help but put a smile on your face.And as always with&nbsp;Emile there is an air of &#39;how the...?&#39;, as a mix of post production and on set tricks&nbsp;confuses the senses...Emile Sornin&nbsp;talks to Luke Tierney about making the video for Disclosure&#39;s Grab HerThe boss character is portrayed perfectly. Were there any influences when creating him?The influence was clearly Ricky Gervais in &quot;The Office&quot;, i think is the funniest man in the world.Comedy can at times be very hit or miss, did you have any apprehensions with the concept?Not at all, when we found the main character (Jean-Baptiste) I didn&#39;t have any apprehensions because he was really funny during casting. He was able to bring to any gravity trick to the next level.As always with your projects, post production plays an interesting and important&nbsp;role. How much of the effects were done in camera, how much was post?Well a magician can never reveal his tricks. But most of the effects weren&#39;t too hard to make, aha.The desaturation of colour is key to setting the tone and the (late 70s/early 80s) period. Why did you set the video in the past?It&#39;s not a matter of temporality. I think I just love 70&#39;s gear and aesthetic, and it matches perfectly with my concept (telephone with wire, big computer etc...)You&#39;ve worked with a series of interesting British artists who, like your promos, are very different from each other (Alt-J, Dizzee Rascal and now Disclosure). Has this been intentional? Who is next on your wishlist?I&#39;m really influenced by British humour, so that&#39;s why it works well with English bands or artists. There is something absurd and second degree in English humour that I really like... Every one knows that Monty Python are the best in the world. And&nbsp;here&#39;s Fleur &amp; Manu&#39;s&nbsp;follow-up,&nbsp;for the head-banging DJ/producer&#39;s Hate Or Glory, which expands&nbsp;on the&nbsp;enigmatic gold glove motif of Pursuit with an allegory on the corrupting effect of power and riches.&nbsp;We&#39;re down in the &#39;hood to witness a young gangster&#39;s brutal rise to dominance &ndash; and then his uniquely extravagant method of&nbsp;demonstrating his accumulation of wealth.
