Hugh Mulhern directs a surreal performance promo for&nbsp;Fontaines D.C.In the video for Skinty Fia - which takes its namesake from the group's upcoming third LP - we see vocalist&nbsp;Grian Chatten in the middle of a hedonistic celebration, trapped among a cast of eccentric characters, bizarre rituals and an overflowing sense of excess.&nbsp;The video opens with an oscillating multicoloured light darting through empty fields and into an enigmatic building, before the concept distorts into a haunting series of warped vignettes. The dreamlike aesthetic is grounded by Chatten's calm and collected attitude, which contrasts the disorder and chaos around him.&nbsp;In the same vein as the other video releases from this album, the concept transcends the performance and morphs into something otherworldly and uncanny, and perfectly fits the unusual atmosphere in the song.&nbsp;

London filmmaker Naomi Grant has shared a director’s cut of Infidel, the music video she directed for New York singer-songwriter Infinite Coles.The video was created through Three Minutes, Crack Magazine’s incubator scheme funding five music videos by young, unsigned directors.Shot in a warehouse setting, with well-crafted use of colour and art direction around the performance by Coles and a dancer,&nbsp;the Infidel music video is a poignant depiction of the journey to self-discovery and the confusion and isolation that come with it. Following its release last month, this is the Director’s Cut, which expands on Grant's vision.

Rita Ora proceeds over a not-so-ancient ritual in this flawless dance video by Sophie Muller.Muller is the undisputed monarch of the performance video. It is difficult to overstate quite how long and impressive her reel is, let alone her influence on the music industry. While her videos have no obvious identifier, there is a timeless succinctness that carries through her repertoire, and this is a slick example of her light touch.This pared-down take on an pagan ritual for Ora's team-up with Tiësto and&nbsp;Jonas Blue is a pretty good analogy for her style. Muller understands that Rita Ora doesn’t need a multitude of setups to command a video. There is a bold light display, and some typically brilliant choreography from Aaron Sillis. But the ritual&nbsp;magic in question is Ora’s magnetic charisma. And Muller provides her with everything she needs to express it.

Sigrid teleports between daytime reality and nighttime craziness -&nbsp;featuring&nbsp;rollerskating ghosts, a party-riot, and escaping from a marching band in a supermarket - in French directing duo AB/CD/CD's&nbsp;effervescent, vibrantly&nbsp;inventive&nbsp;video for Sucker Punch.The directors - that's Camille Dauteuille and Clément Dozier - were inspired by the eclectic nature of Sucker Punch to dispatch Sigrid into a series of mad adventures when daylight literally switches off. And then, with more brilliantly executed&nbsp;transitions, she gets thrown into her next daytime scene.While DoP Rob Witt's superb photography makes&nbsp;her larger than life,&nbsp;the art direction involved bringing in some distinctly&nbsp;Norwegian features to give Sigrid a taste of her homeland - like jumping through her own-branded taco boxes to escape that marching band. And it culminates in a swirl of tiny vignettes where she&nbsp;actually throws punches and turns into two animated avatars - including a seriously powerful 'anime' Sigrid. The third video for Years &amp; Years&#39; second album Palo Santo sees Fred Rowson create a sort of postscript to the short film he directed that brought the album&#39;s dystopian universe to life, and provided the context for his videos for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/03/12/years-years-sanctify-fred-rowson" target="_blank">Sanctify</a> and <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/05/16/years-years-if-youre-over-me-fred-rowson" target="_blank">If You&#39;re Over Me</a>.Once again, Y&amp;Y&#39;s frontman Olly Alexander is the smouldering human dancer existing in a world run by androids. But with All For You, Rowson focusses on performance, movement and&nbsp;atmosphere rather than narrative development. And ultimately it involves&nbsp;a tempestuous Olly pitting himself against a sexy android girl in a dance battle of the ages. It&#39;s all symbolic of the psychological battle raging within Olly Alexander.
