Tiggs Da Author 'Werk It Out' by Francis Wallis
David Knight - 27th Sept 2017
Francis Wallis riffs off the culture clash sound of Tiggs Da Author's Werk It Out, with a party that nods to different eras and movements, from 60s Mod and 70s reggae, to 90s dancehall and the Teenies Twerk.
With a rich colour palette, delivered with panache by DoP Marcus Autelli and colourist Joseph Bicknell, Wallis also transforms a classic South London music video location – the Rivoli Ballroom in Brockley - into something fresh.
FRANCIS WALLIS:
"I remember listening to this track years ago when it first came out. This new dynamic that Tiggs and The Caesers added feels so fresh and great to hear.
"I've been wanting to work with Tiggs Da author for a while now, having loved all the videos he’d done in the past and just generally viewing him as one of the coolest cats in town. For this video I knew we could bring the energy through a dynamic performance as well as introducing amazing dancers who we could really bring to life through the use of strong styling.
"This was shot at the incredible location of the Rivoli ballrooms, if anything the main challenge was to give this video its own identity and feel in such an instantly recognizable location. My DOP Marcus Autelli did a great job in creating the mood and tone I was looking for, and the cameo from Chris Martin was the cherry on top!"
