Directing duo Mathy &amp; Fran return to music videos with a very characteristic piece for Georgia's latest pop gem: sensitive, humane and pastel-hued. And it touches on a subject that many&nbsp;people have faced, literally and metaphorically.&nbsp;In the video for Give It Up For Love, a range of characters take turns to stand upon a high diving board, and are challenged to make an all-important leap.It's a relatable moment where personal courage is required, but given a metaphorical&nbsp;element by it's staging, on a bright yellow platform against a pastel-pink studio background. And when the characters start to leap, they are captured in mid-air, in a state of blissful freedom.It's a simple yet powerful concept to match the sentiment at the heart of the song - letting yourself go to allow love to come in.&nbsp;Georgia's empathetic performance helps tie the whole project together.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Hector Dockrill directs a heartwrenching promo for new Lewis Capaldi track Pointless.&nbsp;The narrative for the video captures a mother-son relationship with beautiful and heart-breaking intimacy. Spanning a couple of decades, the concept follows a&nbsp;single mother who strives against all odds to give her son the life she never had, and is packed with an emotional punch.&nbsp;With a wonderful performance&nbsp;from&nbsp;BAFTA winner Niamh Algar (The Virtues, Raised by Wolves)&nbsp;and three actors playing the son at different stages of his life - including Charley Palmer-Rothwell as her grown-up son -&nbsp;the video reinterprets the song's lyrics to explore a different type of relationship, and it works perfectly.[imgtoken data:1]The naturalistic cinematography and relatable themes help make the video feel incredibly realistic and universal, and it will no doubt have viewers thinking about their own loved ones as we enter the festive period.&nbsp;With mixed dialogue throughout, we both hear and see glimpses into the ups and downs of their daily lives over the years including financial hardship and the tightrope of being a working single parent. Charlie Robins directs a hypnotic promo for The Comet Is Coming.&nbsp;Unabashedly wild and atmospheric, the visual sees a small group of people driven insane by an enigmatic force, visualised in the form of a circle.&nbsp;Kept purposefully vague, Robins combines live action with elements of animation, demanding&nbsp;viewers to come to their own conclusion as to what's happening. One thing's for sure, it's not your everyday scenario.[imgtoken data:1]"This was always going to be pretty nuts," says Robins. "I had a great conversation with the band about the new album called Hyper Dimensional Expansion Beam. That name was enough of a jumping off point, and I just threw a load of crazy shit at it. It felt right to be weird and post-apocalyptic but also disorientating and fucked up. I wanted to make people feel a bit sick in all honesty. "The music is so crazy yet intricately put together, there is something beautifully chaotic about it which fit very well with some post and camera techniques I’ve been developing for a while."I worked very closely with the immense team at Agile (particularly the post guys!) to make this film happen. Leo Leigh's debut video,&nbsp;for Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's new project The Smile, is a singularly intense experience. Leigh more or less dispenses with the causes of a trauma to confront the viewer with the harrowing results. You can only watch and wonder why - while listening to the altogether more gentle Free In The Knowledge.There are a couple of remarkable performances in the video, demonstrating distress and anguish in such visceral ways that it's hard not to think that some genuinely bad stuff happened just prior to when the camera started to roll.Halfway through, there are glimpses of exposition, snatches of other characters, and a ritualistic ceremony, suggestng the power dynamic of&nbsp;this haggard forest tribe. But it's those first two minutes that leave the most powerful impression.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

A day from Hell just won't let up, in&nbsp;Hector Dockrill's tragic promo for Chase &amp; Status and BackRoad Gee.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video for When It Rains features actor Jack McMullen as a down-on-his-luck everyman, trying to go about his day to day life to disastrous effect.&nbsp;It all starts with an antagonistic phone call and a cigarette lit the wrong way, and builds to a high-octane climax full of suspense, blood, chase scenes&nbsp;and the opportunity for the character to finally get the nicotine hit he's gagging for.&nbsp;Brilliant work which anchors on McMullen's performance and a Dockrill's keen eye for narrative.&nbsp;

Dreamjob - that's Jack Whiteley and Joe Wills - give the now-familiar Groundhog Day structure an existential makeover for Metronomy's return to action with the aptly titled&nbsp;It's Good To Be Back.Metronomy's frontman Joe Mount encounters his fellow bandmembers through a series of studio-set exteriors of exaggerated fakeness. He ends the sequence with a singing cowboy in front of a sunset backdrop 'shooting' him with his fingers, sending Mount spinning back to the beginning.[imgtoken data:1]As he repeats the sequence of events, things inevitably change, but not quite in the way you might expect. This is no exercise in achieving improvement and ultimate perfection - quite the opposite. Mount and company's swing between indifference, cheeriness, depression and beyond, as they head repeatedly to the cowboy's inevitable finger-gun.Heroic failure is so more interesting than success...

Django Django frontman Vincent Neff takes the lead role in Jack Barraclough's video for Kick The Devil Out - playing Satan as the annoying lodger in an ordinary British family.In the same vein as&nbsp;low budget,&nbsp;oddball comedy films and old&nbsp;Beastie Boys&nbsp;videos, we find the red-hued Horned One welcomed into the bosom of the family by Mum - but eyed suspiciously by Dad, who's worst fears are confirmed by the guest's niggling bad habits:&nbsp;he misbehaves at the table, cuts his fingernails on the sofa, mixes his colours with whites in the wash... all clear signs that&nbsp;he has to go.Mixing in lo-fi greenscreen dancing footage and a skaterboy mini-DV fantasy, the aesthetic is charmingly DIY, and leans into the absurd concept.&nbsp;Amongst all of this madness, the performances are grounded in reality, and act as a conduit for viewers to understand the frustration and pain of this unwanted house guestBarraclough's energetic and fastmoving&nbsp;screwball comedy is a departure for the alt-rockers,&nbsp;who&nbsp;often embrace visual experimentation and whimsical humour in their videos, but it's a welcome one.[imgtoken data:1]

Lucrecia Taormina laments consumerism and shopping fever, in the darkly comedic promo for Steven Wilson's Personal Shopper.&nbsp;In a sleek shopping mall, we are introduced to a man who has just received a huge wad of fifty pound notes. Ready to shop until he drops - quite literally - he visits different shops and counters, swapping parts of his body for bling and new things.&nbsp;As the shopper&nbsp;exchanges&nbsp;increasingly important parts of himself, from fingers to eyes to lips, the concept only gets more absurd and out of control, with Taormina's flair for the unusual remaining utterly engaging throughout. There's a terrific performance by Robert Lane as the deluded consumer, while DoP&nbsp;Pieter Snyman creates a hyperreal aesthetic through soft beauty lighting and clinical colour palettes of white and shiny metal.&nbsp;If Apple did body horror adverts, this is what they would look like. Fascinating work.&nbsp;
