Pablo Maestres directs a mythological promo for Spanish singer Ferran Palau, encompassing two tracks packaged as Flora Caic.&nbsp;Within this concept -&nbsp;that sums up the myth of the Phoenix -&nbsp;Maestres honours death and renovation in a short piece filmed on the frozen seas and infinite snow of Lulëa.The narrative details a&nbsp;fragment in the life of three characters who go through a transformation in the far corners of the earth. Three analogies of the Phoenix depict the contradiction between ice and snow, beginning and the end, and&nbsp;light versus darkness, taking us on a sensorial voyage towards a final reflection on how we need to end things to be able to start over.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Marc Miro creates a breathtaking style through innovative camera movement and a crisp, cool colour palette. Swedish singer-songwriter Brother Leo is trapped in memories of past love in Barcelona, directed by&nbsp;Sashinski.Featuring a series of vignettes with Leo and his love interest getting intimate in picturesque locations, the transience of every scene represents the speed at which time flies by, leaving little time for reflection until it's over. The main focus is on the small moments between the pair - a glance, a stolen smile, uncontrollable laughter.The performances highlight the very best moments of being in love, but as Leo starts to come to terms with the end, the visuals start to degrade, becoming more and more fantastical and less realistic. This world is now inaccessible to him, aside from in his head, so the rose-tinted glasses have painted the past as something beautiful and untouchable.&nbsp;It's emotional and poignant, and a great match to the wistful and powerful track.&nbsp;

The artist has been inventively greenscreened into real footage of devastation around the globe. As such,&nbsp;Clément-Delmas has created an uncomfortable&nbsp;satire on mankind&#39;s criminal destruction of the natural Earth.&nbsp;

A celebration of classic Hollywood musicals and the French New Wave in one immaculately dressed and decorated dinner party. Surreal and sexy barely begins to cover it, the best thing to do is open your mind and dive in for yourself, man.

Pablo Maestres doesn&#39;t direct music videos very often. His last one was the wonderfully surreal clip for&nbsp;<a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2015/04/21/fur-voice-fantas%C3%ADa-pablo-maestres" target="_blank">Fur Voice&#39;s Fantasia</a>, multi-nominated at the MVAs in 2015.&nbsp;Now he&#39;s back with a video for&nbsp;Wild Beasts - his first for a British band&nbsp;&ndash; which shares the dreamlike quality of the Fantasia video, but with a more nightmarish edge.In the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY7hnGmK9pE" target="_blank">BTS film</a> for the video, Maestres describes how he took the meaning of Big Cat as being a power that is beyond one&#39;s control. From that he extrapolated a road movie, with the band travelling around the Catalonia countryside&nbsp;in a classic &#39;70s Ford Granada Ghia, evading unknown forces. The element of music-inspired surrealism is present from the start: models in magazines and posters lipsync the chorus of the song.With the story building from a series of memorable set-pieces, this is a beautifully crafted work. The&nbsp;ambition of the production&nbsp;is reflected in the shooting schedule - 12 locations in two days - interrupted by an incredible storm, prior to the climactic scene in a carpark where Wild Beasts&#39; singer Hayden Thorpe is confronted by a snarling wolf - which was evidently shot for real. Lets hope&nbsp;it&#39;s not another two years before the hugely talented Pablo&nbsp;Maestres&#39; next music video.

Spanish director Pablo Maestres&nbsp;approaches filmmaking in his&nbsp;own, distinct&nbsp;style of&nbsp;gorgeously&nbsp;retro photography and&nbsp;unsettling, surreal narratives, as we saw with his award-winning video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2012/11/13/be-brave-benjamin-devil-fool-pablo-maestres" target="_blank">Be Brave Benjamin</a> a couple of years ago.&nbsp;&nbsp;But he&#39;s&nbsp;truly outdone himself with his video&nbsp;for Fur Voice&#39;s dreamy song&nbsp;Fantasía. It&#39;s a tour de force, somewhat&nbsp;reminiscent of&nbsp;Alice In Wonderland, which features&nbsp;a young girl trapped in a&nbsp;magical, nightmarish&nbsp;world.Charmingly art directed by Anna Colomer, and shot ultra-wide&nbsp;by&nbsp;Marc Miró, it contains all sorts of spellbinding sequences&nbsp;that come together to form a video that is equal&nbsp;parts eerie and&nbsp;enchanting.[imgtoken data:1]

If you&rsquo;re looking for a heartwarming fantasy journey and don&rsquo;t fancy hobbits or wizards then maybe Pablo Maestres&rsquo; disco-ball adventure is more what you&rsquo;re looking for. It&rsquo;s considerably less sinister than his now notorious and award winning video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2012/11/13/be-brave-benjamin-devil-fool-by-pablo-maestres/">Be Brave Benjamin</a>, but continues a similar stylish 70&prime;s look.
Our spherical protagonist escapes the scrapyard and comes across an array of characters and some (pretty special) locations before finding a home. Shot in Pablo&rsquo;s home of Spain he says, &ldquo;it was an intense shoot, sixteen locations in 3 days only, many displacements and many people in casting. The movement movement of the ball was a challenge (which seems simple a priori, it is not so in the case of a round object with crystals).&rdquo;
