Luke Logan-Malik's video for Cian Ducrot explores the distinctively Irish tradition of the wake, in his video for All For You.The singer-songwriter's song is a plaintive tribute to a loved one who has passed away, and Logan-Malik's film unpicks the layers of grief on an important day, with an authenticity that comes from having a non-professional cast who were seelcted for their own personal experiences of having recently lost someone close.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>I did a deep-dive into the traditions of how the Irish handle death.&nbsp;</blockquote>"After a run of car commercials, this project came up at just the right time," says Logan-Malik.&nbsp;"I was craving some human-led stories, and I think that urge probably dictated my approach to this film."The brief asked for an idea based around a wake, so I did a deep-dive into the traditions of how the Irish handle death. After spending way too much time reading old diaries and obscure folk tales, it was clear that I wouldn't need to use too much poetic license, given the wealth of iconography at hand.[imgtoken data:2]"So the approach was all or nothing, we cast three leads based on their genuine, recent experience of grief, which made for an emotional and sensitive casting process. More than a few tears were shed."We shot across three days in and around Cork, the most hospitable of shooting locations with the nicest of people. A small crew of three kept things agile, and as we were shooting in the cast's actual homes, it allowed us to be tactful and intimate in our approach. The whole experience was a reminder of why we do this - to tell human stories and find ourselves in unexpected places, with proper people."

Luke Logan's video for legendary Manchester band A Certain Ratio's new&nbsp;single Keep It Together features a girl and a car and a transcendental experience - set at the time when the original incarnation of the band got started.It starts in a swooping shot outside the impressively neon-drenched&nbsp;Stockport Plaza at the end of a great evening, where a young woman (Zada Turkaly),&nbsp;a little under the influence,&nbsp;is irresistably drawn towards the big American 70s car that draws up outside the venue, without a driver.Cue her spectacular journey into a dimension of light and colour - created by LED lights shot in a studio -&nbsp;which results in the girl's&nbsp;vibrant resurgence, in an explosion of&nbsp;dance.&nbsp;The track comes from ACR:EPA, the band's forthcoming four-track EP which centres around a jam session recorded last year with <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/denise-johnson-dead-soul-dance-singer-primal-scream-madchester-a9668946.html" target="_blank">Denise Johnson</a>, the legendary Manchester singer who had joined ACR, before she passed away in August. The video is a tribute to the greatness of an English soul singer who made an indelible impact on the Manchester music scene.ACR have commented on the Luke Logan-directed video:&nbsp;“We wanted it to be set in the ‘70s so we invited ACR fans to dress up and become part of the video, among the extras that turned up were Calder Valley’s finest The Lounge Society and Lee from Manchester’s Heavy Salad. Luke Logan has directed a cinematic yet intimate video for Sam Johnson, which incorporates elements of the singer's personal history into the body of his heartfelt&nbsp;performance of his song Changes.Filmed&nbsp;in the Lancashire countryside&nbsp;- in testing weather conditions -&nbsp;Johnson discovers home video of his early life beamed onto old TVs mysteriously situated in a dark wood, and then showered with photos and Polaroids from the family's photo albums in a field.&nbsp;It is impressively captured by Paul Mortlock's cinematography, and makes for an appealing showcase for the&nbsp;Shropshire-born singer-songwriter.And making the video clearly made a big impression on Sam Johnson himself, as he explains here.

And there&#39;s&nbsp; an unexpected ending which leaves more questions than answers.Shot on 16mm film at locations across the north west of England, Logan says that the film has been made on &quot;nothing more than tea, biscuits and discount film stock.&quot; Which is quite an achievement as it looks marvellous.
