Twin sisters Elektra and Miranda Kilbey - aka Say Lou Lou - are back with their cover of Kate Bush’s You’re The One, and an emotionally rich visual for the track, directed by Chloe Hayward.In Hayward's video, the duo play two sides of the same woman, each battling her own inner obstacles which manifest into physical realities when trying to leave a relationship. While Miranda is in a domestic setting, Elektra (also an actor, recently&nbsp;in Apple TV+ show Shantaram) is constantly on the move, by car, foot and hitching a ride, to get to her destination.[imgtoken data:1]“The song is about the different choices we each make in love,&nbsp;that limbo of deciding to stay or leave," says Hayward. "We decided to play with the duality of the twins very directly and present these alternate versions of a love that might exist and simultaneously be a dream.“We were inspired by the Dogma filmmakers, so we set rules for the video as if it were a film. We never see the two girls in the same frame, Elektra is only ever seen outside and Miranda is only seen inside the house to echo these two versions.”Ambitiously executed, even with the aforementioned restraint in the concept, the use of lo-fi edit moments and creative cinematography helps elevate this video to true artistic heights, and it's a mesmerising watch.&nbsp;

Aus Taylor directs a gripping allegory on racism&nbsp;for LA duo Paris Texas, from the POV of a bullet, chasing a young black man.In the video for Bullet Man, the white teen grandson of a racist&nbsp;redneck transforms into a black teenager, runs from the grandfather's trailer, pursued by a bullet from the old bigot's rifle.&nbsp;The offbeat balance of themes and execution in this video makes for a fresh, unique concept. Following her music videos for All The Good Times and title track Big Time,&nbsp;Kimberly Stuckwisch's short film to accompany Angel Olsen's new album tells the whole story - and features a dynamic performance from the singer-songwriter.The storyline for the short film - also called Big Time -&nbsp;was inspired by a dream Olsen had about time travel shortly after her mother's death. The videos for All The Good Times and Big Time are accommodated within its structure, with their contrasting styles brought together&nbsp;into a coherent whole.[imgtoken data:1]As Olsen's attempt at escape a failing relationship via a road trip hits the buffers, she descends to the dreamworld of a bar where time travel is possible, and time itself is fluid. The linking device is a lightbox she carries around with her. It&nbsp;then becomes the focal point in the third part of the film, for the song Through The Fire.The piece is punctuated throughout by phone conversations and recordings - including a real answerphone message from Olsen's late mother. It's a device through which the director and artist articulate the weight of&nbsp;life's most important relationships. And not for the first time, Angel Olsen carries these emotional issues with a compelling screen performance. She is not only an excellent&nbsp;singer-songwriter - and these three songs are powerful -&nbsp;but also a proper actor.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]"When I approached Kimberly Stuckwisch about making these videos, I thought it would be cool to include the storyline of one of the dreams I’d had, and really use it as a way to tell the story of the songs," Olsen explains.&nbsp;"Kimberly&nbsp;added dialogue and events to create a story arc around my dream, to give it a thicker plot, using the music videos within and creating a larger film."The themes of love, loss and processing one's past are aspects that really appealed to Stuckwisch in the preparation and making of the film.[imgtoken data:3]&nbsp;"It's a story that targets deep-rooted complexities," says&nbsp;Stuckwisch.&nbsp;"Such as how our unconscious deals with repressed sexual identity, the hardships of letting go of our past selves in order to step into self-actualization, and the guilt we hold when dealing with loss."For one reason or another, we all have parts of ourselves that we struggle to forgive as well as a part of ourselves we are afraid of exploring or that we think society won’t like—so we push those parts down into our unconscious psyches, into the shadows. This is the story of drowning in those fears before releasing your light."

Niall O’Brien directs an absorbing, ultimately tender video for Talos's returning single Dance Against The Calm.&nbsp;Shot in Cork, the hometown of the Irish indie/electronic musician&nbsp;otherwise known as Eoin French,&nbsp;the promo sees the lead character (played by&nbsp;Sam Keeley) hang out at a local pub, drinking away his demons and grappling with a storm of emotions.&nbsp;Enigmatic flashbacks offer a small glimpse into a narrative, but not enough for it to become a key part of the story. Not quite yet, at least. Instead, after a quick break outdoors, Keeley returns to the bar, and is immediately comforted by every one of the patrons, who wrap their arms around him in a giant hug, allowing him to express his emotions freely.&nbsp;“It’s a song about lost futures, and a nostalgia that we sometimes carry for things that could have been,” says Eoin French - aka Talos. And the video is the&nbsp;first chapter in a three-part short directed by O'Brien.

Helman directs a superb study of interconnected lives&nbsp;for American Football's cover of Mazzy Star's classic Fade Into You.&nbsp;Focused on a series of captivating vignettes, the video for Fade Into You captures transitionary moments in seemingly random characters'&nbsp;lives. But then the scenes reveal themselves to be like beads on a chain: a&nbsp;background character in a scene moves centre stage into the next one, then passing the baton onto the next character.[imgtoken data:1]Helman's method - each scene is a beautifully-shot portrait, with a slow zoom moving closer to the characters - is a wonderful device to create a sense of a narrative, but also hint at something rather more profound. Reality and a touch of surreality sit side-by-side, mirroring the serendipitous nature of life and who we meet on our journeys.&nbsp;This is terrific work, that&nbsp;lingers long after watching - the sign of a very good video indeed.

Sean Pecknold's latest creative tour de force for his brother Robin's band Fleet Foxes is a fully animated video for Featherweight that tells the story of a bird on a final extraordinary adventure.The video has been created in a style that echoes Pecknold's video for the band's <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/news/2011/11/22/fleet-foxes-shrine-argument-sean-pecknold/10926" target="_blank">The Shrine/An Argument</a>&nbsp;- one of the real&nbsp;masterpieces among his many wonderful videos for Fleet Foxes.&nbsp;From the art and design by Sean Lewis, Pecknold has created flat-artwork puppets that are stop-frame animated through gorgeous hand-painted scenes.
