Kesha 'My Own Dance' by Allie Avital

Colourful makeup and tonnes of glitter? Check. Absurdly muscled guys in skimpy pink shorts and animal masks? Check.
Pinch yourself and check if you're dreaming, because 2010 Kesha (without the $ sign in her name) is back with the video for My Own Dance, directed by Allie Avital. Celebrating the hungover parties and the surreal party-pop visuals that cement her videos as some of the most standout of the decade, My Own Dance focuses on a motel full of the weirdest and wildest characters LA has to offer.
This is Kesha at her most free; liberated and quirky, with attitude to boot. The moments of her performing choreography alone in a parking lot are offbeat yet weirdly charming and intimate. It's great to see an artist strip back to who they are and what they want to project and feel - and if anyone in the industry deserves the freedom to live their truth, it's Kesha.
And with pastel colours, daddies and patriotic bodybuilders, the artist is making sure we know she is here to both stay and slay with her new sound.
