KC Locke directs a tender promo for Pip Millett's Downright, exploring the&nbsp;complexities of a modern-day relationship.&nbsp;The video focusses upon the transitory memories that haunt a person once they have gone forever - which makes you question if a relationship is headed the same way.&nbsp;DoP Rick Joaquim captures the narrative concept with a delicate, considered style, elevating the concept with beautiful lighting and slow-motion camerawork."I really enjoyed creating this video for PIP, drawing from PIP’s own experiences of living with depression and how past relationships inspired the song," says Locke.[imgtoken data:1] "The Downright&nbsp;video explores the day-to-day struggles we have with our mental health and the turmoil some of our relationships bring, with Pip looking at her younger self and own past situation from the outside as conflict unfolds. "It was an interesting contrast from our previous video - going down a more narrative path with two&nbsp;female leads playing a younger PIp and&nbsp;friend -&nbsp;with powerful Solo performances moments from Pip."Collaborating with&nbsp;Rick Joaquim was a pleasurable experience as his style and way of working was very respectful and considered,&nbsp;while always caring about story an emotion."

KC Locke directs an explosive&nbsp;promo for M Huncho &amp; Headie One's Warzone.&nbsp;Deep in the trenches, we see the artists perform amongst the chaos of conflict and confrontation, paying no mind to the dangers of the battlefield around them.&nbsp;"When Huncho and team approached me about the Warzone track and the brief of the video feeling like a WW1 movie I was instantly into writing something explosive!," explains Locke.&nbsp;"Being a big fan of 1917, I really wanted to try create a video which had some progressive longer takes with seamless transitions like 1917 but in our own way."The high-octane concept&nbsp;presents an unexpected backdrop for the visuals, and the special effects and quickfire edit keep the project punchy and snappy throughout.&nbsp;"I’m really having fun at the moment combining in camera effects with carefully planned seamless CGI&nbsp;transitions, and world building to make each video I do feel different and new, while always setting creative challenges for the team! This video for us was a showcase of multidisciplinary techniques woven together seamlessly in our own way with a modern take on a WW1 WARZONE." Locke continued.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The location is another key part of the visual, a maze of trenches which create a minacious, cinematic atmosphere.&nbsp;"The location was always going to be the most important thing for this type of creative, once Lewis Nicholson (producer) discovered this amazing location, we knew we had stuck gold and had the perfect backdrop for our video."The art team - lead by Jenny O'Sullivan - did an amazing job on bringing this location to life with so many details and texture along with the SFX team who really came with a bang!"I put a lot of time into prep with a pre-decided scene layout &amp; structure for the video. I left important pockets in the edit in particular scenes for Jamil Shaukat (editor) to really shine and bring out the performance and musicality of the edit, which as a result gives a really interesting and progressive feel to the video between scenes. Some scenes breath while the choreography of explosions, SFX&nbsp;and camera moves live, while other scenes are cut together quicker and seamlessly showcasing the artists performance and story."This musicality we tried to carry across every scene of the video - for example bombs exploding on certain bass and beats within the song, to CGI transitions linked to lyrics and gun fire on adlibs which I feel really help immerse you in the video."[imgtoken data:2]

And very aspirational it is too. The car, the restaurant, the girl - and the bird's eye view over the city - it's all presented with a superior level of slickness.And this is also a love letter to London, in a way that will definitely transcend the times in which it was made. As the director explains below, he has used every trick in the book - well, nearly - to make this a convincing epic, to show AJ on top of his world.&nbsp;

Little Mix break out their explosive choreography skills, in KC Locke's breathless promo for Sweet Melody.&nbsp;Utilising a trademark mix of&nbsp;motion control, drones and steadicam, the fiesty visual&nbsp;is action-packed from the off, as the girls perform in an abandoned warehouse styled in futuristic monochrome outfits.&nbsp;DoP - and frequent collaborator - Stefan Yap leans into the frenetic energy, adding corruscating spotlights and flame-lit backdrops to the mix, resulting in a no-holds-barred reminder of why Little Mix are one of the world's most successful girl groups."It was a great experience teaming up with Little Mix for this dance choreography visual," says KC Locke. "I wanted to switch up the usual pop video aesthetics to bring a more dark, beauty feel and really show the girls' amazing dance and performance skills."We did this by experimenting with longer, more considered solo choreography, combined with big chorus group dance scenes. This video was shot using my trademark bold style in which I utilised techno cranes, steadicam, motion control, FPV drones and hand held."&nbsp;

Headie One and Aitch unwind in a French hotel - in the middle of London -&nbsp;in KC Locke's exuberant promo for Parlez-Vous Anglais.Living the life of luxury, the artists are shown in a series of opulent rooms, switching from performance to snapshots of the high life - getting a massage, kicking back and watching a fashion show, and getting waited on hand and foot.&nbsp;It's a more relaxed approach in comparison with some of Locke's more action-focused, frenetic work, but his trademark style and energy are all over this concept, taking us into a dreamworld where anything you could ever want is right at your fingertips.&nbsp;

KC Locke presents a darker side of Aitch in the hyperactive video for Raw, in&nbsp;one of the first shoots back since COVID19 brought the industry to a halt in March.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Filmed in Manchester, and shot by DoP Stefan Yap, the project is stripped back and highly effective.&nbsp;Focusing on hard light, heavy shadows and high-energy performance, the visual is a strobing mosaic of quickfire setups, punctuated by unusual&nbsp;cutaways.Certainly the&nbsp;Nightmare On Elm Street&nbsp;hand-through-wall&nbsp;setup is still as creepy an effect as it was back in the '80s. And&nbsp;hopefully it's an outlier&nbsp;for many more live-action videos to come across the next few weeks.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Take one of the biggest artists in the world, the man to take the London sound to the mainstream, and place them alongside two artists putting the Midlands and the North on the map. Then you add up and coming director KC Locke,&nbsp;and you get the irresistable force of Take Me Back To London.The visuals focus on everyday locations such as council estates, cafés&nbsp;and the countryside, and elevate them with energetic performances and set pieces, including Stormzy and Ed drifting through a field in a Rolls Royce. The song and video are a love letter to the city – and this extends to the North and Midlands respectively, with the addition of Jaykae and Aitch.&nbsp;The concepts within the video are quite different stylistically, but work&nbsp;together as a whole because they represent what it means to be young in modern Britain.&nbsp;Sam Meyer confidently ties everything together&nbsp;with his cinematography, keeping a stark natural feel and almost gritty texture throughout, capturing&nbsp;the locations as we see them in everyday life as opposed to trying to make anything too glossy.&nbsp;This is England. Youngsters on the come up doing what they do best - and having fun as they tear up and down the country.&nbsp;
