Will Hooper kicks off the New Year with an impeccable promo&nbsp;for Rag’n’Bone Man’s&nbsp;All You Ever Wanted.&nbsp;Visualising the song’s social commentary on overpopulation and gentrification, Hooper presents the idyll of a pristine model village, bringing his trademark charm and wit to the table.&nbsp; As the track progresses however, the layers are peeled back to reveal the reality hidden beneath: an unhinged dystopia playing&nbsp;out in live action.Every detail in the video had to be meticulously planned out through a series of animatics and storyboards. This took place weeks prior to shooting, in order for the model village set build - led by Jennifer Kidd - to work with the matchframe scenes in the live action.This attention to detail has paid off - the video is a stunning and unexpected take on very important themes, with an unforgettable aesthetic and visual style, which perfectly complements Hooper's recent steps into the bizarre and uncanny.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Sam Davis plays upon the strange world of CCTV and surveillance in his video for Sad Night Dynamite.&nbsp;The video for Killshot explores&nbsp;how the use of surveillance&nbsp;can cast a guilty shadow on those it observes.&nbsp;As the narrative develops, the cameras start&nbsp;to seek out more and more obscurity in dark pockets of the city.To bring the voyeuristic world to life, Sam played around with pre-programmed camera moves, super long zooms, face tracking and thermal imaging, combining elements of each to create a haunting and shockingly relevant snapshot of society.&nbsp;

A mini-lightshow illuminates various places across the UK, in&nbsp;Sam Davis and Tom Andrew's video for Metronomy's Whitsand Bay.&nbsp;The surreal visual follows a disco light - salvaged from an old Italian club in the '80s - filmed in various urban and natural environments across the country, from&nbsp;Tottenham to Hampshire, Suffolk and the Essex coast, to the landscapes of Pembrokeshire - and beyond.Editor Joe Walton keeps a calm and considered pace throughout, meditating on the environments and the juxtaposition of light and dark. The bursts of light are hypnotic to watch, and bring an almost alien energy to the visual - the light is unexpected and out of place, yet creates a calm, almost relaxing effect as it moves around the country.

Over the first two videos of the new album campaign Fred Rowson has explored the alternate universe that powers Years &amp; Years&#39; new album Palo Santo - released today (July 6th). And now, following <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/03/12/years-years-sanctify-fred-rowson" target="_blank">Sanctify</a> and <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/05/16/years-years-if-youre-over-me-fred-rowson" target="_blank">If You&#39;re Over Me</a> comes the accompanying short film - also named Palo Santo - that brings it all together.In fact, this beautifully made short sci-fi drama, shot in Thailand, really is what the campaign is all about. It adds&nbsp;a new dimension to the story more broadly touched upon in the videos, of human enslavement by android masters, to provide round-the-clock entertainment.&nbsp;At the heart of it is Olly Alexander&#39;s role as entertainer-in-chief in this android world Palo Santo, and the prize property&nbsp;of an android apparachnik and ringmaster - a subtle and sympathetic&nbsp;characterisation by the Thai actor Vithaya Pansringarm.[imgtoken data:1]The previous videos are abbreviated in the film to give more room to&nbsp;the narrative, while&nbsp;there are some surprising cameos - the ominiscient voice that directs life in Palo Santo is provided by none other than Dame Judy Dench; there&#39;s also an appearance by Ben Whishaw.&nbsp;It looks stunning, courtesy of photography by DoP Jaime Feliu Torres, and superbly edited by Sacha Szwarc at Speade.&nbsp;Written by Alexander and Rowson - who have a long association of working together - the pace of Palo Santo never drops, as it flips seamlessly&nbsp;between character interplay&nbsp;and performance set-pieces, taking in moments of humour and pathos. It becomes&nbsp;a genuinely emotional ride. Ultimately it&nbsp;shows what an accomplished director that&nbsp;Fred Rowson has become.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

But like Dirty, the&nbsp;track Sanctify has that huge Michael Jackson influence.

Fred Rowson&#39;s video for Bree Runway is an all-too-believeable story of exploitation&nbsp;of young female talent in the pop industry, with a righteous side-order of revenge.Bree becomes the subject of a photo session with a top photographer, who uses his position to assert increasing levels of control, which ratchets into sexual abuse. But he has messed with the wrong girl.Fred Rowson does a very good job here in creating a dramatic situation that deals with a serious issue&nbsp;&ndash;&nbsp;and showing just how feasible this is &ndash; while retaining conventions of the pop video, including performance.&nbsp;&quot;Ever since Bree and I shared a mutual love of Kanye West on the dance floor, I knew I wanted to make a music video for her,&quot; he says. &quot;We dedicated this to perverts everywhere; your days are numbered.&quot;

A very comical look at how deeply unsuccessful a British equivalent of Heaven&#39;s Gate would be.

Why can&#39;t we all just get along? James Beale&#39;s video for Georgie puts couples at odds in this London flat block.As if storming out of a flat fresh from an argument, Georgie&#39;s wrath here is contagious as she wanders the grounds spreading anger in the night air. It seems wherever she goes there&#39;s drama. Beale here lets all the action play out in the background whilst keeping the focus on Georgie. Forcing the viewer to look around the frame and catch the glimpses of as many stories as they can before the song is over.

Can it be? A music video by Dougal Wilson? It is, and a delightful&nbsp;one at that.The video is for&nbsp;Liverpudlian&nbsp;electronic-pop&nbsp;trio Stealing Sheep&#39;s track Apparition,&nbsp;and sees the artists themselves performing&nbsp;a choreography amongst a troupe of Morris dancers, handkerchief in hand.Dougal tells&nbsp;<a href="http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2015/oct/07/stealing-sheep-watch-their-new-video-for-apparation" target="_blank">The Guardian</a>, &ldquo;The idea for Apparition came from the fact that the song had a mysterious, hypnotic feeling, and the fact that I&rsquo;ve always found Morris dancing slightly strange and psychedelic.&rdquo;&nbsp;Wilson had&nbsp;been wanting to revisit the English folk dance since his video for&nbsp;Four Tet&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwbn_sKCVRo" target="_blank">As Serious As Your Life</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;a mashup of Morris dance clips set to the rythm of the music -&nbsp;done in&nbsp;2003.&nbsp;He goes on to explain, &quot;Since then, I&rsquo;d always wanted to take the idea further by actually having a band learn Morris dancing themselves, and this seemed like an appropriate opportunity given the unexpected contrast of the girls&rsquo; personalities with the characters in a genuine Morris side.&quot;

After&nbsp;four outstanding videos highlighting the talents of a diverse range of dance performers, here&#39;s the fifth and final part of&nbsp;the collaboration between Oliver Hadlee Pearch and Jungle. And with&nbsp;the video for Julia, the main performer is arguably the most talented of the lot.Certainly&nbsp;lead dancer Jordan Melchor has far more conventional attributes than those featured in the previous videos for Platoon, The Heat, Busy Earnin&#39; and Time - he&#39;s an athlete, and a mesmerizing presence in the video where choreographer Aaron Sillis also makes a huge contribution.And many of the dancers featured in the previous videos assemble once more at the end here, which emphasises the fact this has not only been a great series, but an&nbsp;influential one. Has dance ever been as big in music videos as it is now?&nbsp;
