And while George undergoes numerous costume changes under Rankin&#39;s famous ringlights, the big surprise comes when he strips off the make-up, and his hat, and reveals the real man underneath.It&#39;s an appropriate&nbsp;moment for a song which is all about stripping away the artifice to reveal true feelings of the heart. The sentiments come through with the assiatnce of hand-animation around the live action. They say nostalgia isn&rsquo;t what it used to be, but Busted are out to prove otherwise in their video for Nineties - directed by Rankin.The trio&nbsp;- that&#39;s James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - take starring roles in a fun-filled flashback to the days of Top of the Pops, Blind Date, Nirvana, and the white-suited boy bands that Busted never were. And Rankin has fashioned this as a trip down memory lane that&#39;s every bit as big, bold, colourful and light-hearted as some of the pop-rock classic vids of the era (and drops in a cameo himself).Rankin says: &ldquo;This film is trying to get back to those amazing Joseph Khan videos of the late &lsquo;90s / early &lsquo;00s, where you don&rsquo;t over analyse what it&rsquo;s about or how it&rsquo;s been made. It&rsquo;s just fun and makes you feel good, in the same way the song makes you feel good. It&rsquo;s memorable and you want to watch it again and again to take it all in.&quot;What I loved about doing it was how many of the team in my office were fans of the band and wanted to be in the video. It was at that point I realised the video is for the fans and to really push for that. In my opinion, the best music videos accentuate a song and that&rsquo;s always what I want to do when making promos. We came up with the idea of using dancers as a metaphor for society and their explosion of movement could symbolise the energy released when a revolution happens.&#39;

It didn&#39;t take a lot to get Laura grinding up against Mark, she looked like she was having fun and Mark couldn&#39;t believe he was getting paid to receive a lap dance. The 1975 hit the road in Gareth Phillips' promo for Chocolate, taken from their Music For Cars EP. Drawing on the gang mentality of the band - who have known each since a young age - Gareth feeds in some paranoia and loneliness to contrast the uptempo pop of the soundtrack.
"The whole video is like a hyper real version of a care free time, instead of driving about and smoking in a Ford Fiesta its a 1975 Ford Consul" says Gareth.
"Having an experienced producer like Sean Stuart on my side means that problems get solved quickly. On the day the car didn't turn up, Sean managed to magic up the Consul in a very tight situation which actually worked out better as it was the original car from TV show The Sweeney and when it turned up it was pure poetry".

Gareth Phillips' latest work is a surreal, gluttonous and stomach churning promo for Marika, featuring some chaps getting their chops around a awful lot of food, whilst Marika watches. The greedy diners don't have the most delicate table manners and Gareth makes sure to include plenty of close ups that, depending on your personality, will either make you feel very hungry or a bit sick.
It's a disturbing ritual at heart and the last few scenes are a real eyeopener. Here's Gareth on creating the beastly banquet:
"Marika's old school chapel provided the perfect location, and set her up as a kind of angelic figure, witnessing a disgusting feast. The cast were amazing and I can't thank them enough, they literally threw themselves into the bowls of jelly and piles of hamburgers. 
"I felt bad when I asked them to take bites out of the blocks of butter but that feeling didn't last long when I saw how disgusting the image looked. Caroline Steiner did a great job in creating the rich platter of putridity that gradually smelt worse and worse over the course of filming and Ben Coughlan did a great job at lighting the location and subjects with little budget and little time. I'm quite happy with some of the reactions to the video, not many people want to watch it twice, I advise watching it after lunch. Bon appetit!"
