Eoin Glaister reunites with Glass Animals with his first video for the band since 2017 - and takes their band's fans down a complex&nbsp;a complex conspiracy rabbit hole courtesy of YouTuber TinFoilPat.The video is for&nbsp;The Other Side of Paradise,&nbsp;originally released on the How To Be A Human Being album and now revived to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the album - which also featured Pork Soda and Agnes, which have Glaister-directed videos. It features TinFoilPat as a superfan of the band, revealing to his Youtube community about the&nbsp;rumour that lead singer&nbsp;Dave Bayley has been replaced by a clone (or clones). And then follows his mission to uncover 'the truth'.[imgtoken data:1]The band were not available to feature in the music video, so Glaister has employed various techniques to build his narrative. Firstly he chose to lean on archive footage from their iconic concert at Red Rocks, and construct a narrative arc that starts with the moment Dave sang “my thunder shook him down” in perfect sync with real-life thunder.&nbsp;Then he sourced further on-stage clips, TikTok cutaways, generative AI, choreography and a mouse-and-cat dynamic, to create a trail of clues for TinFoilPat to uncover.The music video is also sprinkled with subtle Glass Animals fandom trivia and even features real-life moments like TinFoilPat infiltrating the Universal Music London office or calling up the front desk to accuse them of “being in” on the hoax.[imgtoken data:2]<blockquote>It felt like a full circle moment, creating promos for the album again.</blockquote>Glaister says that the fact the band were unavailable for the shoot prompted the clone idea.&nbsp;“I'd been watching TikToks with my sisters and was really taken with all the fanfare and conspiracy theories surrounding Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears and I love how ropey all of that evidence is," he explains. "They were vehicles to kick start thinking for this project. [And] the narrative that was constructed with the archive footage means that I could blend facts and fiction in a silly way, which I’m really into.[imgtoken data:3]“This is the third job I've done for Glass Animals, which means I've earned some trust with them; it’s useful for running with a really, really bizarre idea like this one. A woman falls in love with the Fatberg - yes, you heard right - in Eoin Glaister's marvellously&nbsp;entertaining return to music videos for Sam Dust, aka LA Priest.It's a tale both charming and ludicrous - in other words, classic Eoin Glaister territory - as a house cleaner (played by comedy actor&nbsp;Juliet Cowen) peers into a street drain on her way home from a hard day's work, and sees an&nbsp;amorphous blob of grease and fat - who looks back at her. And they fall head-over-heels for one another...What follows is a both lovely and a little bit disgusting, as Cowen ventures into the sewer system to properly meet the Fatberg, and we follow the inevitable steps of the relationship - the wooing, the (ahem) physical relationship, the arguments, the peace offerings of wet wipes and non-biodegradable products down the loo. And like all stories of star-cross'd lovers, it's not going to end well - but even then, love prevails. Kind of...[imgtoken data:1]It's Eoin Glaister's second video for Sam Dust, formerly of Late of the Pier, as LA Priest, and was shot in London over two days on 16mm.&nbsp;“The first video I made with LA Priest involved letting an untrained pack of dogs lick liver paste out of his ears, so I was somewhat surprised to get a call regarding It’s You -&nbsp;but&nbsp;needless to say l leapt," he says. “The track is about someone falling in love with a mermaid, but the time of year meant I kept running into safety issues with any water-based ideas. A fatberg provided an altogether greasier route."A few Mighty Boosh references later and we were away. Eternally grateful to the fabulous crew who went above and beyond to bring this to life on Valentine’s Day and to our stars, veteran genius Juliet Cowan, and Vanessa Del Bosco whose zen-like patience made the project possible. Eoin Glaister captures the erstwhile ambitions of a frustrated smalltime DJ&nbsp;- played by BAFTA-winning actress Lauren Socha - in his return to music videos for Liverpool DJ-producer Mentis.Glaister&nbsp;captures the tragi-comic trials and tribulations of Kent’s premium mobile party provider, DJ Debs - played with real pathos by the superb Socha - in the video for Excuses, featuring Kate Wild.&nbsp;Her dream is to be a proper superstar DJ in Ibiza. The painful truth is that she is playing children's parties and weddings... if she's lucky.It's a classic comic storyline of the hapless wannabe, whose dreams of fame bear no resemblance to the reality. But in this case, it's made all the more poignant and funny&nbsp;due to Lauren Socha's performance&nbsp;- and by the fact her character begins to realise that she is not destined for stardom. She becomes increasingly disillusioned by her situation - but it's then when things finally start to turn around...&nbsp;Eoin Glaister has done a wonderful job with a great part for a superb actor and a down-at-heel setting that works perfectly for the narrative. Shot on 16mm, using an Arri SR3, this was achieved on what EP Hannah Bellil describes as a&nbsp;"three day escapade with a really close knit team" in the more run-down towns along the Kent coast, which allowed Socha get up to some seaside hijinks, including an 'Ibiza dream sequence' with a&nbsp;jet-ski.&nbsp;“We had so much fun making this," adds Bellil. "Lauren is an amazing talent and the opportunity for Eoin to build in dialogue with her was a total joy. We've been here before, most memorably with Beastie Boys' Intergalactic. But Eoin Glaister puts a whole new spin on a classic Japanese monster&nbsp;movie trope for Joji and Jackson Wang.So&nbsp;Giant Lobster (or Crayfish?) - played by Joji -&nbsp;is causing terror by smashing through&nbsp;the city. It&nbsp;must be saved by Jackson,&nbsp;stoically operating his Giant Robot. Battle ensues amid the cardboard skyscrapers, to the unseemly delight of Jackson's girlfriend.But just when we think that Giant Lobster is vanquished, having been summarily poleaxed by Robot, there's a twist in the tale. It's very sweet - a kind of 'snowflake' revisionism that will enrage&nbsp;neo-conservative lovers of Godzilla films. So that makes it great.What's more, there's also room for an enjoyable epilogue of Joji and Jackson having great fun, mock-fighting on set - until Joji's magnificent lobster/crayfish outfit starts falling apart...

Fasten your seatbelts as Eoin Glaister takes a traumatised young girl into the world's weirdest order of nuns - born to worship and trained to kill - for Carnage.Papi Gordo,&nbsp;aka DJ and producer Carnage has undergone a kind of soul revival. He took a hiatus in late 2018 to do a little soul searching in the mountains of Central America and Asia, and after four months, he's re-emerged with his third single of the year, Holy Moly. And&nbsp;the main character of Glaister's video (played by&nbsp; undergoes her own strange soul search - but this one begins and ends with blood.Holy Moly&nbsp;is a wild three-and-a-half-minute ride with all the highly-produced trappings of a classic horror&nbsp;film. Complete with hyper-violence and brawling women of the cloth, there are unmistakeable touches of Dario Argento, while the plot vaguely mirrors that of the fictional-film 'Blood Sister: One Tough Nun', from David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest. Maybe that's what Carnage was up to while he was out there finding his inner voice?It's funny, it's horrifying, it's definitely worth a watch.&nbsp;

Now there’s nobody left to save humanity from, Captain Joji has nothing left to do but mope around, play ping-pong with his crew, and reminisce about the glory days. Fortunately for this action-starved crew, Joji’s deputy is starting to have evil delusions of his own.Glaister’s fantastic&nbsp;video is a pitch-perfect subversion of TV sci-fi tropes. It’s all there: the camp costumes,&nbsp;the dodgy prosthetics,&nbsp;the body paint,&nbsp;the streaky lazers,&nbsp;and the very obviously earthbound location. Isaac Bauman’s photography captures the spirit of the media it's riffing on - not just&nbsp;Star Trek&nbsp;and&nbsp;2001: A Space Odyssey, but lower budget cult classics like&nbsp;Silent Running.

The realism of the setting, not so far from the atmosphere of the real Elvis lookalike convention featured in Impossible. Only here, it drifts into fantasy as bingo night becomes a song-and-dance dream, populated by &#39;two fat ladies&#39; and more.&ldquo;The video for Talk Talk Talk,&nbsp;continues in the same vein as Impossible,&quot; says C Duncan &quot;It&rsquo;s off the wall and fun, which matches the nature of the song perfectly. The use of colour and lively imagery juxtaposed with the reality of the setting work well in creating a surreal world that is both tongue and cheek yet emotive.&rdquo;

Even if you&#39;re a bulldog.Buddy&#39;s problem - if you want to call it that - is that he&#39;s willing to take a fall for his devoted yet hapless owner. And Eoin Glaister gets plenty of comic mileage out of that scenario in this video for Kele from Bloc Party.&nbsp;This is the latest of a fantastic run of videos by Glaister in 2017. After his ambitious trilogies for Aquilo and All We Are, we have come to expect great performances from his work - by humans. Now he shows he can turn bulldogs into stars. A bloody marvellous video.

Glass Animals&#39; lead singer Dave Bayley says that Agnes, from the Mercury-nominated How To Be A Human Being, is &quot;the most honest and personal story I have ever written.&quot; It is also heartbreaking, and Eoin Glaister puts Bayley through an experience to physically replicate its&nbsp;gravity.It&#39;s clear from watching the video that, as he attempts to perform, Bayley is undergoing an extreme test of endurance &ndash; and from the cutaway shots, ever-building levels of pressure. In fact, he is inside a human centrifuge, and experiencing G-forces that make him feel increasingly weighted down - as Glaister explains below. Nic Booth&#39;s camerawork emphasises that sense of weight, increasing tension, and claustrophobia, heightened by the square-framing. It&#39;s heavy alright.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Finally, closure is upon us! Over two months since part one was released, we&#39;re finally treated to the final installment of Eoin Glaister&#39;s trilogy for All We Are.The video for Dance picks up at the breaking of ground for the new much-hated development that the village has spent the last two episodes trying to stop. Now it&#39;s down to the wire and the village has one last hope; a gang of guerilla girl guides. Vandalism and intimidation are all in a day&#39;s work for them but ultimately it proves to be a fruitless endeavour. Sort of.A few twists and turns and some hilarious character moments later and the story reaches some sort of resolution - though probably not the one anybody was expecting. With two trilogies down now, one can only hope Glaister has a third one planned to make 2017 his year of a&nbsp;trilogy of trilogies.
