A new episode of The Promonews Podcast - Talking Music Videos is out today, with David and Rob of Promonews talking to Eoin Glaister - a director who has spent the last ten years making music videos that make us laugh.

From his notorious video for Let The Machines Do The Work - filmed at an EDL rally - to his latest for LA Priest, featuring a love affair between a cleaning woman and a fatberg, Eoin has been pushing boundaries in narrative videos that have reflected his zest for comedy.

On this episode, he talks about the videos - mostly funny ones, occasionally not - that have were important in his development as a director. Delivered with a distinctive dash of Glaister wit that makes it a very enjoyable listen.

With credits that include videos for Catfish & The Bottlemen, Aquilo, Glass Animals, All We Are, Kele Okereke and Beirut, he reflects upon the considerable challenges that have come with the opportunity of bringing his ideas to the screen. Eoin explains how he found a knack for directing video trilogies - and why he thinks that a dog is a director's best friend. 

Since working with superstar artist Joji before the pandemic, the Stink FIlms-signed director has broken properly into commercials, with leading brands taking advantage of his comedic style. More occasional recent outings in music videos include his promo for Liverpool DJ/produce Mentis, and he explains how he created a great comedy character in the video with BAFTA-winning actor Lauren Sorcha.     

This episode of The Promonews Podcast: Talking Music Videos follows a series of revealing conversations in recent months with directors currently making a big impact in UK music videos.
