Following the glamorous promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2023/03/01/jessie-ware-pearls-sophie-muller-theo-adams/80564">Pearls,&nbsp;</a>Sophie Muller and Theo Adams reunite with Jessie Ware, this time with Róisín Murphy along for the ride, for the Freak Me Now video - and it's a hoot.&nbsp;Featuring a feverish blend of disco aesthetics and hypnotic editing, the video sees the two artists in their element, bringing a sense of theatrical splendour to the performance vignettes.&nbsp;And by the sounds of it, as they talk about their collab below, Jessie and&nbsp;Róisín had lots of fun on the shoot.It's a vibrant mash-up of colour and patterns - bringing the vid for Deee-Lite's classic Groove Is In The Heart to mind - with an unabashed sense of fun and playfulness to boot.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>We had mad fun dressing up on the day of the video. Jim Wilmot finds an excellent way to tug at the heartstrings for Lewis Capaldi's tearjerker - filmed at Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.&nbsp;This sees&nbsp;Capaldi setting up to do an acoustic solo performance of new hit Wish You The Best in the Arrivals section at&nbsp;the Terminal, watched by a surprised group of expectant friends and family who are waiting to be reunited with loved ones.&nbsp;Cue a rollercoaster of emotions that we have all experienced when seeing our families after an extended period of time, captured in a very affecting way.&nbsp;With both docu-style footage of the reunions and a more posed portrait for the camera, it's simple yet impactful&nbsp;concept, executed to perfection.&nbsp;And it is destined to bring a lump to the throat - just as the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZLxVvLyKTo" target="_blank">official video for Wish You The Best</a> does.&nbsp;

Two music genres&nbsp;battle for supremacy&nbsp;in Sau Ali's stylish yet gritty promo for Jords and Lil Sykes' Drill Vs Grime.&nbsp;The narrative follows the artists as they&nbsp;enter an abstract simulation, in which the two genres go head-to-head in a high-energy showdown.Sau Ali recreates a street environment, in which both types of music emerged, in a studio environment - a rather brilliant move.&nbsp;It was also shot by DoP Henry Gill on black and white 16mm film - Kodak Double-x 7222&nbsp;-&nbsp;that adds another layer of texture to the visual.&nbsp;"The track is militant and explosive. I wanted to complement that by exploring the iconography of the two genres," says Sau Ali. "The ‘Street Monolith’ (concrete wall) that Jords &amp; Lil Sykes stand either side of; the huge speaker cone that pulsates above it; and the severed island street scenes... they all speak to these British genres’&nbsp;cultural kinship and shared DNA.[imgtoken data:1]"I wanted to create an experience that emphasised the retrospective theme but leaned towards a surreal tone to match the abstract narrative. DoP Henry Gill bought that to life. Shooting on 16mm and heading down a moody and nocturnal direction that I wanted the world to exist in."Production designer Jade Adeyemi essentially created the entire world. I wanted everything to look like we’d lifted it from real places. Jade understood and accomplished that beautifully."I worked closely on this concept with talented VFX artist Lee Delves before the job was even commissioned. We wanted to achieve an exaggerated visual that still maintained its authenticity. The ‘Genre Morphing’ shot (Jords &amp; Lil Sykes standing on either side of the street monolith) was intended to be achieved ‘in camera’ but budget limitations meant Lee was tasked with creating the shot in post - which actually accomplished the otherworldly&nbsp;sentiment that I was looking for, and is an example of how limitations can lead to great creative solutions in a music video."

Oska Zaky has directed a heartwrenching promo for Insincere Jack's Melody, in collaboration with the hiphop trio, highlighting the issues surrounding&nbsp;youth suicide.&nbsp;The film is an impressive visualisation of the song - all about&nbsp;Jack, a teenager whose life comes to a tragic&nbsp;end, as a result of events that could in truth happen to any teenager, including a failed romance and overdependence on drugs.What makes this exceptional work is how the arc of Jack's story is dramatised, with excellent performances from its young cast - not least from Cameron Lewis, who plays Jack. His portrayal of the young man's&nbsp;journey -&nbsp;from cheeky, optimistic teen, who through a series of commonplace&nbsp;events and actions, becomes the person who sees all&nbsp;hope and promise extinguished - is a really outstanding screen performance.[imgtoken data:1]This narrative is supported by the impassioned performance of the song by Insincere, acting as narrators. We see the trio traversing different London cityscapes, and performing as the narrative matches the arc of the track.&nbsp;It is anything but insincere. The sensitive approach to such a raw, important subject is a credit to&nbsp;directors Zaky, Insincere and everyone involved. Jessie Ware takes to the pulpit&nbsp;to preach tolerance and self-expression, in Vicky Lawton's effervescent visual&nbsp;for Free Yourself.When Jessie enters a large room, striding majesterially through a parting crowd in her&nbsp;flowing red gown, there is a spark of anticipation. Then&nbsp;she begins to perform, the super-cool and buttoned-up throng she is addressing start to respond to her words. And soon the group are giving themselves up to Jessie's commands - and being their full unbridled selves.&nbsp;With her strong sense of fashion, Lawton gives the video a twist of sophisticated&nbsp;rock 'n roll decadence, but with the added element of euphoria which feels contemporary and certainly works with the uplifing nature of the track and Ware's remarkable voice.[imgtoken data:1]"As soon as I heard the track, I knew it had to be a celebration - a&nbsp;moment of joy, freedom of expression and individuality," says the director. "It’s all there in the lyrics - 'free yourself'. [I was] Imagining a gathering of like-minded free-loving folk at a stately home, very 70’s rock n'roll - but with a pinch of the occult thrown in."Knowing I’d want to make the tone provocative, I needed to ensure there was the class and sophistication in the visuals to keep it chic. That meant keeping mystery and intrigue at the forefront, using references of decadence, silhouettes to tease and a heavenly glow throughout. That’s where working with Rob Jarvis, DOP was a delightful experience - he has an eye for controlled compositions and a painterly effect when it comes to the use of light."Within this setting, Jessie is a true performer. Her ability to be the authoritarian preacher to the crowd of dancers in the start of the film, and get within the group towards the end and let loose was masterful to watch."
