Loyle Carner embarks on a dreamlike journey in the self-directed video for the lead-off track from his forthcoming hew album.

Loyle (real name, Ben Carner-Loyle) is tucked up in a child-sized bed as the video for Lyin' starts. As water begins to drip onto his head, the bedsheet becomes a device to set him on his travels. He finds himself in bed in the sea, then back asleep, waking up, leaving a public bathroom and entering a rush hour crowd of commuters and then - in a moment of brilliance - rising above everyone else.

Eventually he finds himself walking into a crowded theatre and onto the stage where his bedroom is the set - and he walks back into the room. 

Throughout, Loyle is talking about the pressures and pleasures of fatherhood - a central theme of the new album hopefully! So the video is itself a surreal exploration of fatherhood, where both inner child and grown-up self are still figuring things out. It leaves things open-ended and unresolved, a cue for the viewer to get closer to Loyle Carner's new music.
