And it turns out, the tactical nerds come out winning as they&nbsp;launch&nbsp;a huge missile&nbsp;into the sky, blasting everyone into rooftop&nbsp;party land.

Brendan McNamee goes out and about a South London neighbourhood to shoot the promo to the Brookes Brothers' reggae/dubstep-flavoured In Your Eyes.
"The Brookes Brothers wanted a reportage feel to the clip," explains McNamee "They had an idea of a matriarch shopping for the family roast in a traditional London Market. 
"I live in Brixton and have seen the old market place become fresher and more gentrified as the years go by and liked the idea of this matriarch having a flash back to her former glory, the Brixton of the 70's. We had two interns from *Live - a charity in Brixton, Miles even shot some 2nd unit. 
"We were very lucky on this extremely tight budget to secure the services of Jade, who choreographed and danced in the piece, and Joan Hooley who played the matriarch. We didn't realize at first but she is South London royalty, not only a former cast member of East Enders but one of the writers of The Desmonds."

"The clip was shot on 7D over the course of two days on the white isle" explains McNamee. "I had never been to Ibiza before, so the excuse to have a 'busmans holiday' was attractive to me and the other 3. Our host Ronnie couldnt have been more welcoming, ferrying us around the island looking for locations on our first day and lending us his Jeep for a prop vehicle and general run around for the next couple of days.
"Without Ronnie it would have been very difficult to complete the clip by the 'seat of our pants' and our tiny crew. It was an excellent experience and everyone got stuck in with everything, lifting, lighting and laughing.
"It was my first time shooting with the 7D, overall a very malleable camera, but the lack of viewfinder or loupe on set made it frustrating and the fact we were traveling on E***jet, meant a box of primes and lots of lights were a no no. Super lo-fi film making on the move".

Mike Harris has visualized the message of hope and redemption in Egyptian star Maher Zain's song Insha Allah. It's a powerful film, beautifully shot by August Jakobsson using Photosonics and Red One, and it was filmed and recorded in four languages (this being the English-language version).

"I wanted to focus on details of human emotion, to capture the moment of change from distress to discovering inner peace, a moment of divine intervention. Suffering is found everywhere and it seemed a natural choice to create scenes that could be from many different places in the world. 
"I decided to bring this wide range of scenes into Maher's performance space so that they appeared in front of him as manifestations of his thoughts. Although we were in effect creating glimpses of people's lives, I wrote back-stories for the characters, which served as a point of reference for the actor's performances, art direction, lighting, styling and make-up. I think this cohesive approach worked well.
"Photosonic slow motion was the perfect technique to engage the viewer to focus on the intimacy of human expressions, to really draw people in. We did very detailed castings, as finding the right range of cast who could deliver authentic performances was key. Slow motion reveals all and I am pleased that the actors did such a great job"

A low-budget NYC-set video with a neat twist by Brendan McNamee for Killa Kela - who might possibly have found his Lola.

"When I set out to write a treatment for Everyday I knew I would be in NYC and decided, naturally enough, to set it there. The budget was tight but Greencard pictures in New York really pulled out all the stops for us.
"DoP Brett Jutkiewicz came on board and after speaking to him I knew there would be no problem with my not having any sort of monitoring. His shooting style is very intuitive, and without seeing a single frame before the transfer to tape amazingly I wasn't nervous at all.
"More amazingly everything looked as I imagined, in fact better than I imagined. The one light transfer was fantastic and just can't get better than shooting on film for my mind, it lets you off the hook in so many situations.
"The narrative of the clip is based on the lyrics and a twist in the theme of two lovers breaking up. I liked the idea that the two people were in fact two sides of the same coin and Kela would be the confidant to both of them. The clip remains fairly ambiguous, down to the actress/actor we chose and the speed with which we shot.
"It's not obvious what Kela's role is in either relationship, but discussing that with him he was very cool with being 'very cool' to both of the friends in the clip.
"I have to say massive, massive thanks to Greencard - Blyth, Tiffany, Brett, Sam, Solena, Nicola - and Kela for being a true artist. Not many hip hoppers would be confident enough to take the 'crying game' so easily in their stride."

Killa Kela’s Everyday by Brendan McNamee

An impressed Brendan McNamee approached anti-folk star Emmy after a gig and offered to make her a video. Then he shot it on two rolls of recanned film - one was labelled wrong (it was 50 Daylight film, not 500T as labelled), and the other inexplicably fogged.
"So what I wanted to be a very simple in camera and edit turned into a rescue op," says Brendan. Well, he's done a highly effective salvage job. This is sweet and tender, with some handy effects work to boot.
Meanwhile Emmy will be charming the masses this week at SXSW, and in a UK artists showcase at the Bowery Ballroom in New York tonight. That's our gig of the day, live fans.
