Blake Claridge directs a stirring promo for the long-awaited return of&nbsp;The Subways.&nbsp;The video takes place in a 70's-inspired bedroom - complete with wood panelling, graphic carpets and earthy colour palettes - with the group rocking out as the camera rotates and descends frenetically, perpetually transitioning from the top to the bottom of the room in a crane-style movement.&nbsp;"I guess I can refer to The Subways as long time collaborators now," says Blake Claridge.&nbsp;"It's been about fifteen years since our first video. Perhaps I am getting old now - I’m not!!""That was also the drive of the concept of the video. The track is certainly punk and youthful and I wanted to bring that to the piece without it feeling forced or out of touch, so kept things simple and allowed them to do what they do best."

Blake Claridge directs a poignant and&nbsp;meditative promo for modern classical artist Alexis Ffrench.&nbsp;The video for Guiding Light builds upon themes of love and loss, and depicts a woman standing on the shoreline, allowing the waves to wash over her bare feet, while&nbsp;an upright piano stands&nbsp;just metres away. Then Ffrench himself appears, playing the refrain of Guiding Light on the piano.&nbsp;The idea of connection to nature and to a higher power is elevated by the stormy, unsettled weather, and the subtlety of the performance allows viewers to impress their own experiences onto the concept and form their own attachments to the music."On the recce, the sun was out and I had planned things for the perfect sunset," explains Blake Claridge.&nbsp;"But this is England,&nbsp;so on the shoot day we were coming off the back of a storm and shooting in torrential rain. But it was perfect, and just created more drama to what was always going to be a pure and simple piece."

2010's boyband The Wanted are back, with an emotional&nbsp;promo from director Blake Claridge.Shot on Osea island, we see each of the artists attached to a parachute, having just landed in the idyllic location. They are guided towards each other by a mysterious woman, before reacquainting&nbsp;just in time for a mesmerising fireworks display.&nbsp;Talking about the project, Claridge says, "Shooting on an island in Essex in September&nbsp;wasn’t ideal but we certainly lucked out with the weather, which played in our favour of making the boys look great. Being part of creating a comeback video for where they are right now was wonderful to be a part of."Paying homage to their upbeat, glossy videos of yesteryear, Claridge has captured the energy of the band perfectly, blending the nostalgia of their original work with a more mature sensibility.&nbsp;

Blindeye Films have welcomed Blake Claridge to their roster of directors for music videos.Claridge, who will be represented by Carrie Sutton for music videos,&nbsp;cut his teeth&nbsp;from the late Noughties&nbsp;onwards, with videos for The Subways, The Ramona Flowers and Martin Garrix ft Dua Lipa and others. He has gone on to make commercials for Adidas, Ebay, Mastercard, and many more - and occasionally returning to make videos, including Lost Frequencies' Truth Never Lies ft Aloe Blacc.&nbsp;"We're thrilled to welcome award-winning Director Blake Claridge into the Blindeye family," says Blindeye MD Jack Lightfoot. "As well as an extremely impressive catalogue of work, Blake's passion, enthusiasm, and excitement towards film-making was a real draw for us - he loves reviewing briefs and delights in the challenges of elevating an idea to the next level. But now I feel that I can really focus back on this again, continue to raise my game and really prove myself in this medium."After leaving the agency I’d been looking into production representation for both commercials and music but I wasn’t in a hurry, as I wanted to make the right decision. I think this was certainly a repercussion of the pandemic for me, a chance to stop and re-evaluate. After speaking with many different people and production companies, my heart was to go with a smaller, more ambitious company that I could be part of the narrative."When Blindeye got in contact with me I was immediately intrigued. I've known about Jack, his work and the company for a while and when I noticed that Carrie was now repping them, I had to get that ball rolling.&nbsp;I’ve missed music videos and I am super excited to start working with Blindeye, as they are part of this new path for me."Cutting my teeth in the world of music videos, I came from a place where you get the most out of a challenging brief and budget and work out ways of how to get things done. A woman escapes her suffocating circumstances in this&nbsp;nervy&nbsp;dance video by Blake Claridge for Lost Frequencies, featuring Aloe Blacc.Reflecting upon her relationship, and her suffocating life inside a chic California bungalow, the woman begins to dance, almost involuntarily, and the video culminates in a rousing dance&nbsp;on a platform overlooking the city. The woman is&nbsp;overlooked by a manicured version of herself,&nbsp;in a gold evening dress.The video is a great showcase for dancer Katie Malia, who inhabits the frustrated duality of her character through her movement and posture.

A mixture of aspect ratios helps us switch between past and present as we witness colourful&nbsp;conquests past, atmospheric forests, steamy shower scenes and bedroom anguish steeped in shadows.Through match cuts we see the parallels between these relationships and feel a tinge of sadness at Garrix&#39;s vulnerability when he&#39;s framed alone.

Blake Claridge's video for English alt-folkies A Band Of Buriers' Filth sees him move confidently into short film territory. In fact, it's very powerful - the story of a young man and woman, living together in a country cottage, that builds to a horrific, unexpected climax. 
Initially it appears that the story - written Rob Hayes and the band - is all about the deteriorating relationship between the couple, played by Lily Loveless and Matthew Lewis - the latter best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies. 
But it becomes clear that a human bone, to which the girl is strangely attached, is playing a darkly pivotal role in that relationship. And we'll find out what part of the human anatomy that bone comes from...
