Andrew Thomas Huang directs a brilliantly arresting promo for Björk's Ancestress, exploring&nbsp;the idea of death and the rituals we partake in at the end of our loved one's lives, and pays homage to&nbsp;Björk's mother, who passed away in 2018.In stark contrast to the hypnotic, fungi-inspired video for her previous release, this concept is a visualisation of catharsis, a goodbye that only Björk - and her creative collaborators - could create, something&nbsp;raw yet breatktakingly abstract and artistic.She leads a funeral procession of mourners through amazing Icelandic landscapes, her face shrouded by a veil, establishing a tone and atmosphere which is virtually operatic.&nbsp;For Huang, who has memorably collaborated with&nbsp;Björk on several videos, including Mutual Core and The Gate, this sees him forego use of VFX for an entirely cinematic approach, but with its use of colour, costume, choreography and sheer scale this is still so characteristically his work.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Upon release, Björk put out an Instagram post about her struggle with attending funerals, and how her idea of rituals have always been different to tradition.&nbsp;"When the soul sets off, it needs to be outside so there is room for how enormous it becomes when it merges with the elements," she says.This video represents&nbsp;an idealistic send-off from her own perspective, and is heart-wrenchingly beautiful in every way. It's video number three in Aidan Zamiri's collaboration with FKA twigs for new Caprisongs&nbsp;mixtape - and this time they're joined by featured artist Rema.&nbsp;The promo for Jealousy feels like a mix between 80s/90s video or fashion ad - think <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaTGrV58wec" target="_blank">C&amp;C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;and contemporary editorial, and sees twigs joined by a group of dancers in a simple white cyc studio setup. Rema's scenes were&nbsp;shot by a splinter crew in Lagos, and blend seamlessly into the overall concept.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;use of action in the&nbsp;foreground and background adds a new dimension to the minimalist setups, whilst the anachronistic array of outfits creates an&nbsp;ethereal, high-fashion vibe. The careful use of silhouette and patterned light helps to elevate this aesthetic, creating a mesmerising tapestry of images.&nbsp;

Following up the lo-fi promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/01/18/fka-twigs-ride-dragon-aidan-zamiri/74595">Ride The Dragon</a>, Aidan Zamiri and FKA twigs keep up the pace with the next visual for the new Caprisongs mixtape, for Meta Angel.&nbsp;This time around, the narrative plays a much stronger part in the concept, though there is still plenty of abstract imagery to delve into.Twigs stands in the middle of a field, performing on the spot as she looks around, dazed and mesmerised. Her&nbsp;doppelgänger climbs onto a roof, and with razor sharp precision, fires an arrow directly into the other character's heart.&nbsp;The dazzling track accompanies a darkly beautiful visual, which&nbsp;carries over the raw qualities of the artist's last collaboration with Zamiri, but is much more intentional and theatrical in its execution.&nbsp;

Aidan Zamiri and FKA twigs embrace&nbsp;the challenges of going guerilla in the arrestingly lo-fi&nbsp;promo for Ride The Dragon.&nbsp;The candid video opens on the steps of&nbsp;Hackney Town Hall in East London, where twigs and her gang of dancers position themselves for a flashmob dance routine - to be captured on a long lens by DoP Molly Manning Walker. But it was never going to be that easy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With echoes of the classic video for Fatboy Slim's Praise You, the performance is interrupted when council staff and&nbsp;security guards act&nbsp;to promptly&nbsp;shut them down and move the girls along - leaving a confused-looking boom-op in their wake.The rest of the video documents how the gang regather at a local corner shop, regaining their zest before&nbsp;returning to complete their challenge, just metres away from the original location - before the heavy mob move in again.&nbsp;It's a far more rough-and-ready, doc-style affair than&nbsp;twigs&nbsp;and Zamiri's&nbsp;previous collaboration on the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/08/21/645ar-ft-fka-twigs-sum-bout-u-aidan-zamiri/66212">645AR track Sum Bout You</a>&nbsp;- or indeed any previous twigs video.&nbsp;The first of a series of videos directed by Zamiri for&nbsp;Caprisongs, twigs's&nbsp;newly released mixtape,&nbsp;it&nbsp;also&nbsp;suggests a more spontaneous and impulsive side of the artist that actually adds to her mystique, and directly communicates her fantastic ability as a dancer.&nbsp;

Diana Kunst directs an incredible performance promo for FKA Twigs ft Central Cee.&nbsp;Taken from the soundtrack of upcoming 20th Century Studios film&nbsp;The King's Man&nbsp;- a prequel to the popular&nbsp;Kingsman&nbsp;franchise - the track is a sweeping, Bond-esque epic, with dramatic strings and powerful percussion.The video reflects this sense of drama, interweaving dance, martial arts and slick visual effects,&nbsp;anchored by Twigs' ethereal presence and adeptness at a menagerie of different performance styles.&nbsp;Extravagant and amibitious - just like every Twigs promo - this feels like a perfect balance between the avant garde and mainstream, and is a stunning achievement across the board.&nbsp;

Having collaborated with Headie One and Fred again.. on her latest release, FKA twigs has collaborated&nbsp;with director Emmanuel Adjei on the magisterial video for Don't Judge Me - a metaphorical exploration of&nbsp;the experience of being Black and British today.This is&nbsp;a double whammy of two distinct sequences that have their own riveting quality, and then weave together towards the greater message. Like most things created by twigs and Adjei - directors who are working together for the first time -&nbsp;they gradually create&nbsp;an indelible&nbsp;impression.[imgtoken data:1]On the one hand, there is twigs herself, sitting in a chair&nbsp;a grand room in a grand English house. But can she escape what reveals itself to be a gilded cage. Before she can get through the door of the room, unseen forces drag her back to the chair. When she negotiates the door, she only gets so far before flying back to her first position once again. It's a continual struggle, which increasingly calls upon angular choreography as well as wirework.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;And then in a mysterious counter-scenario to twigs's struggles, we are taken into another scene, the details of strange and shocking&nbsp;sculpture, and the people surrounding it. The artwork is Kara Walker's fountain sculpture Fons Americanus, a&nbsp;satirical take on a classic Victorian mode of art, cast in concrete - which has exhibited at the Tate Modern in London. The cast around the sculpture are eminent Black Britons - listed below - who have shared a particular struggle, shaped by&nbsp;cultural, systemic and structural biases,&nbsp;to be who they have become.[imgtoken data:2]"From someone’s appearance, we are unable to judge whether a person discriminates over colour, sex, religion, or gender," says Emmanuel Adjei, talking about the theme of The Invisible Oppressor, which has informed the video for Don't Judge Me.&nbsp;"The oppressors within the people surrounding us, most often remain invisible until their abuse against others is revealed. This is one of the reasons why, for generations, discrimination is so hard to fight. Who must the victim fight against if it can’t identify the perpetrator?[imgtoken data:3]"In this audio-visual document we get to witness artists FKA Twigs and Headie One, amongst other Black British influentials, fighting against invisible forces of judgement and oppression. Having the enormous Victorian-inspired fountain 'Fons Americanus'&nbsp;by visual artist Kara Walker - depicting the historical, sorrowful story of slavery and colonization - as our setting, and particularly as the spirit of the film, this important monument creates another layer of depth and meaning to an invisible yet shared history."

Daniel Sannwald directs a visually striking promo for Flohio.&nbsp;Jumping between burnt orange and monochromatic colour palettes, the video for Unveiled is built around distorted performance setups - arranged by ALL CHOREOGRAPHERS ARE BASTARDS - and off-kilter portraiture, producing&nbsp;a fresh and innovative aesthetic that feels just as nostalgic as&nbsp;it does futuristic.&nbsp;Cutting through trends and in complete contrast to previous visuals from the artist, this concept feels more like an American Horror Story entry than a hip-hop video, and that is said with the utmost excitement and praise.&nbsp;

The world comes together to celebrate movement and music in Filip Nilsson's video for Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford.For the project, Nilsson curated user-generated clips from 28 countries, with only one instruction- "Do your best. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Be yourself. We like you as you are.”Nilsson and his team enlisted&nbsp;renowned choreographer Ryan Heffington to devise&nbsp;the dance routine. "We then uploaded a video tutorial to 'shoot bibles' we created - one for dancers, one for musicians -&nbsp;and distributed to talent we’d found online or through casting agents," explains Object &amp; Animal executive producer Dom Thomas.&nbsp;As a result, the team received a mind-boggling&nbsp;1000 clips from 28 countries. Filip then directed Marcus Mumford - already a dab hand at self-shooting from his own lockdown video for You'll Never Walk Alone - via Skype. Then in Sweden, Andreas&nbsp;Arvidsson worked with Nilsson to edit the bank of footage, using just over 100 clips and never repeating an individual - with the exception of Mumford.&nbsp;The resulting crowd-sourced visual is&nbsp;simple and stripped-back,&nbsp;yet full of energy, character, diversity, and hope. It's an uplifting thing, a testament to our society's&nbsp;collaborative nature and ability to create moments of joy in the most unusual of circumstances.

Aoife McArdle channels George Orwell's Animal Farm in her outstanding satire of our post-truth world, for Coldplay's Trouble In Town. &nbsp;In this fast-moving story&nbsp;an&nbsp;ensemble of anthropomorphic characters' lead&nbsp;interwoven lives on the mean streets of an anonymous American city. Tackling issues such as homelessness, racial and social inequality and police brutality, we follow members of the underclass&nbsp;as they try to survive in a spectacularly messed-up system. The use of animals such as foxes for these characters is an inspired choice, given their urban habitat and often desperate living situation, which is in total contrast to the wealthy politicians, represented (as in the Orwell classic) by pigs.As the normal residents risk their lives day-to-day to just exist, we see the pigs on screen arguing and coming to blows with each other. This disrespect trickles down to the police and other positions of power, in a distressing setup that echoes&nbsp;real-life shootings of those such as Alton Sterling and other black men who were murdered by the police.With Kiev standing in for this threatening urban landscape,&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Mauro Chiarello utilises the neon glare of the city as a main lighting source, building upon the gritty urban aesthetic with a splash of garish colour. UK-based SFX company Millenium FX created each of the prosthetic masks on display in the video, a true testament to the creative&nbsp;team's&nbsp;talent and the incredible potential that exists in international collaboration.But above all this is a triumphant return to music videos by McArdle in making a blockbuster-style entertainment without&nbsp;compromising her satirical targets.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Proceeds from the song and video will be split between two charities:&nbsp;The Innocence Project, which helps to overturn wrongful convictions in the US;&nbsp;and ACFS, which is a charity for vulnerable children in South Africa.&nbsp;
