Spanish director Alan Masferrer has created an idiosyncratic showcase for Alessia Cara - winner of Best New Artist at the 2018 Grammys - and the first single from her new album: a very stripped-down, conceptually-led version of a big studio production number that figuratively represents the jumble of emotions in Alessia&#39;s song Growing Pains.In a huge set, Masferrer uses theatrical lighting, fabric, occasional props and an impressive squad of dancers to tell the story behind the big suit that Alessia is wearing on the cover of her new album. It&#39;s also about navigating the obstacle course to adulthood, and also achieved&nbsp;in what appears to be a single take - with a real &#39;how did they do that?&#39; moment coming at the end.

Alan Masferrer presents a heavy-smoking playboy and his delightfully energetic&nbsp;friend&nbsp;in this kooky and very charming two-hander&nbsp;for LA&#39;s electro-disco duo Oliver.With plenty of appropriately 80s signifiers &ndash; the lips on the TV screens, the gold lamé swimwear, and a hero with a touch of the Dudley Moores about him - Masferrer&nbsp;toys with numerous influences (including perhaps, the love-hate relationship between Clouseau and Kato in the Pink Panther films). But there is nothing predictable about it - oer a&nbsp;recognisably linear narrative.But who cares, with a song this good, and a couple (Spanish actors Sheila Jordà and Xavier Pàmies) this loveable...?

Spanish director Alan Masferrer depicts scenes of desolation at the start of this video for bleepy, synthy singer-songwriter Maps. &nbsp;Seemingly dead, we see a range of bodies trapped in their last moments in a fascinating array of scenes, everywhere from woods to Jacuzzis. &nbsp;However, with the arrival of a rather snappily dressed man - with some sci-fi trappings -&nbsp;this bleak view turns to a rather pleasant one. &nbsp;It&#39;s excellently shot throughout, and Alan draws on his Spanish heritage to shoot in both the gorgeous Catalan scenery of&nbsp;Palautordera and Barcelona.

Taken from their album Family, The Cast Of Cheers turn to Alan Masferrer for the promo to Human Elevator. 
Shot in Barcelona and sporting a vintage 70s look, Masferrer introduces a host of characters - some crazy, some normal and some just plain weird - who live in an appartment block, via a doorway (or elevator) to each floor. 
"It was a crazy 16 hour shooting day with 13 different set changes and a lot of actors to coordinate" explains Alan. "All the crew did a great job to get the video in the can. As for the concept, I wanted to give the viewer the choice to be anyone, becoming the main character of the story.
"We shot with vintage Kowa anamorphic lenses to get a 70's vintage look with a 2:35 format to get a more puzzling and subtle style (and to give an extra work to our VFX composer, who had to rebuild some walls of the long shots). 
"Thanks also to Ian Pons Jewell and Dobrina Manolova (Studio Murmur) for their support and John Moule and all my crew for making this possible".

Short but sweet, Alan Masferrer delivers this delightful promo for indie Catalan singer Joan Colomo to partner the gentle acoustics of new single Màgic. It involved recreating Joan in cartoon form in two very different ways - one in papier maché, the other in pixels.&quot;Joan Colomo is a Spanish singer with a strong personality and style, and the song, which talks about happiness as a result of ignorance, is one of his biggest successes,&quot; explains Alan.&quot;The song is very short, so, one of the objectives was to create a very visual clip in which you fancy watching more than once. We hadn&#39;t referenced about this kind of movements and action, so it was a bit difficult to imagine the final outcome until the last phase of post production.&quot;
