Lauren Luxenberg directs an inspired conclusion to her trilogy of videos for rapper Youngs Teflon. Following Da Gutter and Brownin, the video for Ain't Right sees Youngs finally find out who's been watching him through the past two vids - and it comes as quite a surprise.Boasting creative performance vignettes from Youngs and Blaqbonez, plus a thoughtful narrative, the video makes use of interesting perspectives and framing to elevate the aesthetic, keeping things fresh with every scene. Great work and a fitting end to a strong multi-video project.

Rich Brian lives life in isolation, in the promo for Little Ray Of Light - the first in Jared Hogan's series for songs from the Indonesian rapper's new album Where Is My Head?Under the watchful eye of CCTV cameras, we open in a world that looks much like ours, whilst Brian spins on a roundabout. Pulling out, we notice the artificial boundaries enveloping this space, the naturalistic elements clashing with artificial intention. This is a The Truman Show situation.With a gritty, dystopian aesthetic and an otherworldly feel throughout, the pensive concept is elevated by lingering, mysterious camerawork and an uncanny vibe.

Creative collective Maschima direct an out-of-this-world epic for legendary outfit Tears For Fears' latest album. Consisting of four tracks from Songs From A Nervous Planet, the video follows an interconnected narrative exploring dreams, memories, space travel and the planet we inhabit. Across the four songs Maschina contrast the beauty of the natural Earthbound world - represented by a young woman in sun-dappled California, on a beach, among sunflowers, captured in warmly glowing film footage - with the crisp, VFX-fired wonder and beauty of space exploration.In the third and fourth songs, the two elements come together: the Astronaut (the title of the second song) crashes back to Earth. Then the woman, her growing son and the wandering space traveller finally encounter each other. As a collective, Maschima encompass a range of visual skillsets, and they are on full display here. Spanning animation, live action, graphic design and more, it's a momentous achievement and a truly international effort. And the music is pretty damn great too: Tears For Fears' Roland Orzabal is still capable of writing big Beatles-esque pop tunes."We've all been fans of Tears For Fears since we were kids," explain Maschima. "This video series gave us the opportunity to craft a cinematic story that unfolded over four episodes - like creating a miniature TV show. Harvey Pearson directs an evocative visual accompaniment to SALPA's debut album, What You Do Alone. The 15-minute film is an exploration of the album's themes, with gentle, transient vignettes and emotional performances by the English singer-songwriter, now based in Catalonia. Shot in March 2023, What You Do Alone navigates the contrasts of existence - darkness and light, fire and water, loss and hope - each element serving as a metaphor for personal growth and acceptance."The origins of this film trace back to my first conversations with Luke (SALPA), where our shared appreciation for each other’s work quickly evolved into a creative collaboration," explains Pearson."As I immersed myself in his upcoming album, I found myself deeply drawn to its themes - reflections that resonated with my own experiences.
