Mike James questions the idea of a higher power in his thought-provoking video for Manhattan Murder Mystery. The visual for Bodybag follows a religious group who congregate in a small, nondescript complex, and follow frontman Matthew Teardrop through a series of unusual vignettes. The underlying message of the visual questions the cult-like aspects of some religious sects, and where our place in the world lies within these hierarchies, and is visualised with a vintage-styled, rough and ready aesthetic.

Directing duo Constantine//Spence focus upon enigmatic textures, surreal vignettes and abstract iconography in their promo for Sega Bodega's Only Seeing God When I Come. In tandem with the ethereal hyperpop soundscapes, the video feels like a fever dream in a parallel world, where visions of rotten fruit and slimy skin are as beautifully alluring as they are stomach-turning.As Constantine//Spence explain: “The video in its essence is an abstract exploration of detail paired with performance and otherworldly sets, that give the video a disconcerting, unconnected feeling to the real world.”

Louis De Caunes tells the story of a prophet and his disciples for Ebenezer, transplanting elements of story of Christ to a modern setting.Classic religious and mythological symbols are reinterpreted in the urban world of 2018 - including a figure walking on water, a Last Supper, and references to Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. But this is a more gritty and down-home approach to the visual pillars of Christianity, than in recent videos for Ariana Grande and Travis Scott.Shot in New Orleans, with Steve Annis DoPing for De Caunes, this looks ravishing as well as being more fixed in the real world.
