Harv Frost directs a gripping promo for indie rock outfit Black Honey where lead singer Izzy Baxter Phillips is a prisoner, confronted with a barrage of distressing scenes.Rather than Hitchcock - as the songtitle might suggest - the video for Psycho pays homage to Kubrick - in particular the notorious 'aversion therapy' scenes in A Clockwork Orange. Like Alex in the movie, Izzy is similarly strapped to a chair, repeatedly forced to watch a fast-cut montage of traumatic imagery, monitored by Establishment males, played by her bandmates. Izzy falls into a hallucinatory cycle, catching eye of a shocking image - and it is quite a shock - as she is led to the chair. She gives a captivating performance as her mental state deteriorates, and then escapes her captivity to find the paraphanalia driving her torture.But is she a Psycho? Harv Frost draws the viewer closer to Izzy and keeps the viewer guessing right till the end.

Kimberly Stuckwisch directs a poignant promo for singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff, weaving an affecting narrative about a young boy trying to escape his circumstances in his rural hometown, accompanied by Rateliff's performance of Heartless. In a Groundhog Day-style loop, we see the boy take multiple walks down the same street, unable to break free. Only when he shifts his perspective does a new outcome present itself.The naturalistic cinematography and the winning performance of young actor Kevin Kelley creates an immediate connection to the character and his perspective, telling the story in an organic and inspired way. And the seamless addition of Rateliff's performance within the narrative is a cohesive way to bring everything together.And as Kimberly Stuckwisch reveals, the story was inspired by her own personal experience as a youngster."Growing up poor as dirt, in a part of the world long forgotten, I often found myself running away from my tumultuous upbringing diving head first into books, studies, writing, and theater, all in search of a different life," she explains."Through the arts, I found and continue to find my freedom. In many ways, I modeled our lead character (Kevin Kelley) after myself. I was at first angry, blaming the world for what happened when we were kids, but eventually learned that by showing kindness, I was able to free myself of the pain."I am so thankful Nathaniel trusted me with such a personal and important song for the world."

Lubos Vacke directs an enigmatic, and beautifully cinematic promo for Czech musician dné, set on a Prague city train. The video for Traps In My Feed chronicles a young woman's journey from work. She's trying to avoid a phone call she doesn't feel like making, but in doing so, gets caught in an endless loop as different versions of her start to cycle through the train in which she's travelling. With a dark, cinematic aesthetic and captivating central performance, the video ponders the idea about our refusal to be present as a society, and the stress we put ourselves through in delaying the inevitable.
