Legendary creative Juan Cabral blends fashion, tech and a surreal sense of perspective, in this evocative promo for Argentinian rockers Babasonicos. The video for Advertencia takes place on an empty residential street, surrounded by tower blocks and industrial buildings. A handful of cameras are set up on tripods and spotted across the location, adding a mysterious vibe to the concept, which is built upon with a variety of unusual props, camera angles and dad-dancing. The sandy colour palette and inspired styling create an almost fashion editorial style aesthetic to the video, whilst the playfulness in every scene reflects the veteran band's lively performance style. An absorbing feat, with plenty of rewatch value.

Rory Alexander Stewart directs a spectacular promo for Squid. The video for Cro-Magnon Man follows a frenetic rollerblader, played by Neil Nelly Ingall, as he carves through a dimly lit cityscape, on a surreal journey combining physicality, distortion, and a puppet made of bones.With a heavily-textured, vintage digital aesthetic and experimental cinematography, it's an inspired concept for an equally strange piece of music. Cityscapes have never looked so weird - another great project from Rory Alexander Stewart.

Pedro Takahashi returns with his latest Sam Akpro video, in anticipation of the South London artist's album release in March.The video for Evenfall follows Akpro and the band navigating liminal spaces at night, with Takahashi employing in-camera techniques including time-lapse and slow camera moves to create a sense of displacement, unease and alienation.The approach serves the atmospheric track really well - and feels consistent with the director and artist's previous collaborations, on the UKMVA-nominated Death By Entertainment and more.

Rich Hall crafts a touching promo for Joe Hisaishi, composer of the soundtracks of numerous Studio Gibli classic movies including Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro.Shot in Vienna, Hall's video for Hisaishi's Viola Saga features a mysterious character, played by actress Jessie Mei Lei, as she weaves through the deserted city at night, trying to connect with the environment in any way she can.Featuring the rich artistic history and beautiful architecture of the city - shot on 16mm by DoP Uri Barcelona - Vienna feels like a reflection of the quiet struggles we all face, offering a powerful sense of release in a world that seems empty and forgotten.It's an ambitious feat with a strangely haunting atmosphere, seeing buildings and places that should be full of people completely empty. Drawn-out takes and fluid camera movement add to the surreal vibe, and it is a beautiful complement to the track.'The idea grew out of loneliness, and the inbetween spaces that are so prevalent in Joe’s music," explains Rich Hall. "Time is relative, it only travels forward, so we played on the idea of travelling back in time to change a mistake or to meet a loved one again, only to find it was a world absent of people."I have grown up with Joe’s music - and so have a lot of you without even realising it.
