As their long-awaited new album ROMANCE is released, comes another remarkable Fontaines D.C. video - and another tour de force by Luna Carmoon.The director who made her music video debut with the intense drama of Here's The Thing (after her acclaimed feature debut Hoard) quickly returns to duties with the Fontaines with an extraordinary piece of work for In A Modern World: a surreal comedy-drama, featuring an incredible central performance from Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Saltburn) - as a character engaged in the netherworld of a very niche, indeed bizarre and dangerous sport. It's car-jitsu - jiu-jitsu, within the interior of a car. Invented just a couple of years ago, in Chicago, Mitchell's character is the protagonist through which Carmoon explores an absurd yet compelling experience. At first, its just the raw, explosive physicality involved of clashing bodies within a ridiculously small space - which is surprising and hugely intense in itself.Then the director adds another dimension to the brutal clash of bodies - what is happening outside the car, the voyeuristic relationship of passers-by who become the audience to Mitchell and a succession of combatants, a kind of sexual frisson that is created through the intensity of the action. The parallels with another in-car activity is undeniable. It's Fight Club crossed with dogging. Horrible, painful to watch yet hilarous, it's mesmerizing stuff, a fever dream. And it's hard to undersell how good Mitchell is in this. Or how impressive it is in terms of the vision and world creation by Carmoon. Just great.

Revenge is sweet, especially with Florence Pugh standing by your side, in Jacob Erland's latest collaboration with Rachel Chinouriri.The video for Never Need Me is a satisfying tale of a cheating boyfriend who gets his just desserts - or in this case, a cake in his face - at a party in front of all their mutual friends. The concept is elevated and taken to cake-smashing heights in Erland's glossy visual, which meditates on relationships, friendship and new beginnings.And, of course, by the unexpected movie star presence of Florence Pugh, who plays Rachel's best friend. Having heard the song and reached out to the singer directly on Instagram, Pugh made this casting coup possible, and then plays a supporting role in the video in more ways than one. She is the best girlfriend who helps her lovelorn pal after a traumatic incident - revealed in full towards the end. Her appearance, and her chainmail party dress, is attracting tabloid attention - but Florence is not the star of the show, and she withdraws from Rachel's spotlight at crucial moments. The result is a thoroughly enjoyable and great looking video - excellent work from DoP Jake Hunter and colourist Alex Gregory - and the latest in a growing number of impressive collaborations between Chinouriri and Erland.

Your Mother's Favorite Rapper is back with a new hip-hop / pop hybrid - this time joined by fellow artist Chaz Mazzota. Time To Kill follows two FBI agents who are on the hunt for a dangerous killer...but in their investigation, it turns out they were truly searching for each other all along (cue romantic music). Incorporating a thriller-esque narrative with some deadly performance shots (pun intended) it's a heartwarming story and a step up in scope for Jenison's self-directed videography, which is getting sharper and more ambitious with each release.
